07102007 Ramsey and Peggy Harb Murdered by Former Son-in-Law

RAMSEY AND PEGGY HARB OF KNOXVILLE
MURDERED BY FORMER SON-IN-LAW

KNOXVILLE, TN -- Funeral services for  Ramsey J. Harb and his wife, Peggy Harb,  will be held Wednesday, July 11 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's.Cathedral  in Knoxville. Mr. and Mrs. Harb were murdered Sunday, July 8 by  their former son-in-law.

The Harbs, who were retired, had been long-time owners of Harb's Carpet & Oriental Rugs in Knoxville.

Kevin Lee Storr, 50, shot Mr. and Mrs. Harb, with a 9 mm handgun, then shot himself in front of his ex-wife, Teresa Harb Storr, according to  Tom Spangler,  chief deputy of the Knox County Sheriff's Office.

The Storrs divorced in March, 2007.

After a December 2006 incident at the Storr residence, Spangler said an order of protection was taken out against Kevin Storr. Storr had made threats to kill himself and was taken to the hospital to be evaluated. He managed to evade officers serving the order of protection, Spangler said.

The Storrs have two children, but they were not present at during the shooting. Teresa Harb Storr was not injured.

Ramsey Harb, 71, and Peggy Harb, 66, were retired and spent their time helping others. One of their charitable activities was delivering food to shut-ins.They were active members of St. John's Cathedral in downtown Knoxville.

The Harb family will receive friends at St. John's Cathedral 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
