DALTON, GA. -- The sixth edition of the American Home Showplace Dream Home was officially unveiled last month on the Carpets of Dalton campus here.
The American Home Showplace Dream Home is a full-size hoome of over 2,500 sq. ft., that was constructed inside the American Home Showplace store six years ago. Since then, the company has updated the furnishings annually and community events are also conducted inside the home. The store's vendor partners participate in the annual updates.
"Over one million people have viewed the Dream Home since its inception six years ago," said Ken Brown director of marketing for Carpets of Dalton, parent company of American Home Showplace.
"This Dream Home has a lot of punch, we've taken the gloves off for this show house," said Sandi Graham, lead designer.
Participating vendors include area rugs from NOurison, Jaipur Rugs, Company C and Kalaty. Furniture includes pieces from Wesley Hall, Hickory Chair, Lane Venture and E.J. Victor. Carpeting and hard surface products are represented by Mohawk Industries and Bruce Floors
Carpets of Dalton has been in business 34 years. It began as a floor covering retailer and that segment remains the company's core business, Brown said.
The Carpets of Dalton campus contains several separate stores. American Home Show Place/Carpets of Dalton contains home furnishings, electronics, kitchen and bath cabinetry and every category of floor covering. Room by Room opened two years ago and caters to value-oriented consumers. It is oriented to the sale of fully coordinated rooms. Now under construction is the World of Outdoor Living. When construction is complete, the campus will contain one million square feet of retail space, according to Brown.
