  BRINTONS INTRODUCES  NEW
 CUSTOMIZING TOOLS FOR DESIGNERS

ATLANTA - Brintons has introduced two custom design tools for architects, designers and specifiers, according to Deborah Adams, vice president of  marketing.

Hospitality is a new interactive design tool for creating custom-colored axminster woven carpets. Picture Perfect is a new Brintons program that renders digital photographic images into woven axminster carpeting.

Developed by the company's U.S. marketing department, Hospitality is a collection of coordinated patterns created by members of the Brintons design staff. The 13 sets of patterns include large scale organics, combined with smaller scale geometrics in contemporary, Asian and retro themes.

An accompanying CD allows designers to recolor, with Brintons color palette, any patterns shown in the album on their own computer.  Designers can print out their pattern and color selections, as well as request printouts and samples by email.

Picture Perfect allows designers to replicate crisp digital photography into life-like imagery for a variety of  commercial flooring treatments, according to the company . The "Roses" carpet, pictured above, was featured in the Brintons booth at the recent International Hotel, Motel & Restaurant Show  in New York.

The Hospitality program was created as a working tool for designers to use at their desks, rather than a library-based reference aid. Contained in a four-color spiral bound notebook, Hospitality goes beyond the standard carpet pattern brochure in several ways, according to Adams.  "For example, one pattern is presented per page, providing detailed information about scale and color placement. Also the recoloring CD makes these patterns truly practical for specific project use," she said.

Based in the Kidderminster, England, the family-owned Brintons was founded in 1783 and currently operates in five countries on three continents. Brintons' manufactures high end woven carpeting and handmade rugs.  Approximately 90% of its U.S. sales are in the commercial market, serving hospitality and other specialty end uses.
