INDUSTRY HONORS MAGNIFICENT CARPETS AT ATLANTA RUG MARKET GALA EVENT

ATLANTA -- America's Magnificent Carpet Awards, the rug industry's version of the Academy Awards, was held Saturday, Jan. 21, the last night of The International Rug Market here.
A new power loomed rug from Loloi Rugs was the winner of the Retailers' Choice Award. The rug was also the winner in the $200 to $400 retail price category.
The awards were made in a dozen hand made and power-loomed categories. In addition, there were four Visual Merchandising Awards for outstanding showroom display.The winners were:

A panel of three experts judged the entrants in the main award categories. The People's Choice award is voted on by retailers who visited the Museum of Introductions on the Mart's fourth floor, where all the entries are displayed.
This year's judges were Atlanta designer Christie Dillard of Dillard Design, Asian art expert Johan Eric Riis and Allan Arthur, an Oriental rug appraiser.

 Amir Loloi with People's Choice award as the most popular rug in Magnificent Carpet Award competition. The rug, in Loloi's new Stanley collection, also won as the best power-loomed rug in the $200 to $400 retail price category.
