CELEBRATING THE 2017 WINNERS: AMERICA'S MAGNIFICENT CARPETS AWARD
Celebrating the beauty and spirit of the American rug industry, the 2017 America's Magnificent Carpets Award honored winners from nine companies in 11 categories during the Atlanta International Rug Market featuring NORS.

ATLANTA -- On Friday, Jan. 13, top executives in the rug industry gathered at the Westin Peachtree Plaza in downtown Atlanta for the 2017 America's Magnificent Carpets Awards. The ceremony--the centerpiece of the Atlanta International Rug Market featuring the National Oriental Rug Show--honored rug designs in 11 categories. Two companies, Loloi Rugs and Eliko Antique & Decorative Carpets, each received awards in two categories.
The 2017 winners were chosen by an independent panel from nominations submitted to the Museum of Introductions, where they were displayed in a dramatic fourth floor gallery in AmericasMart's Building 1. Judges for this year's event included Betsy Riley, editor in chief of Atlanta Magazine and Atlanta Magazine's Home; Stephen Mathews, owner Mathews Furniture & Design in Atlanta; and Heather Hogan Roberts, Atlanta-based interior designer and owner of Ivy and Vine.
Presiding over the ceremony and presenting each individual award was Kevin Malkiewicz, vice president of leasing for Home & Rug at AmericasMart. Categories in the 2017 completion included hand-knotted/flat weave, hand-hooked/hand-tufted, machine made, antique, outdoor and licensee.
