HIGH POINT, N.C. -- High Point Market area rug introductions feature the latest weaving advances in a range of trend-forward styles, colors and textures. Buyers can expect everything from luxurious pure silk hand-knotted designs to high-quality dense machine-woven looks, often finished with special washes to impart luster or hand-carving for added texture and dimension.

In between, fresh designs roll out in constructions including hand-loomed, hand-tufted and performance qualities with top styles continuing to update traditional carpet patterns with contemporary color palettes. Other top looks that are expected to be popular are a new crop of abstract patterns, many with painterly qualities or marbled-effects. High texture tonal designs, often crafted of natural wool, and contemporary geometric styles will also be in the spotlight.

Tending colors remain focused on easy-to-decorate with warm beiges and browns, with green in all its luscious shades now a de rigueur feature in many palettes. Nonetheless a fresh crop of blue-hued area rugs is ascending and moody and dramatic dark tones, including black, charcoal, forest green and inky blue will prove to be a top winner heading into 2026.

In Part 2, RugNews.com's comprehensive guide to area rugs continues below with designs that are sure to capture the eye -- and imagination -- of market attendees.
