A range of sustainable contemporary area rug brands feature their cutting-edge designs across Denmark's capital.
COPENHAGEN -- Denmark's largest city and capital plays host to its citywide design festival 3 Days of Design from June 18-20, 2025, and the event continues to grow its ranks, including adding an expanded number of high-end area rug producers.
In fact, the New York-based Warp & Weft. -- the only U.S rug atelier at the fair -- debuts at the platform. It is among the 13 rug and carpet participants and the 400 total exhibitors (up from 350 a year ago) presenting their products at the 2025 design showcase.
"This is our first time exhibiting at 3DD, so we are excited," Kristy Krivitsky, account manager at the New York-based Warp & Weft, told RugNews.com. "We expect that it will continue to be something we regularly participate in as we want to connect with and reach a European trade and design-focused audience."
The festival takes place in showrooms, shops, streets, galleries, and various other venues throughout Copenhagen, which plays host to a growing community of design enthusiasts who gather at 3 Days of Design to celebrate creativity.
While the festival is a must-see design destination for professionals, it is also open to general public. The exhibitions are highly curated and exclusive — yet inclusive so everyone can attend for free. During the day, exhibitions are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with many events scheduled in the evenings.
Each year the expo features a key theme and for 2025 the motif is Keep It Real.
“Our KEEP IT REAL theme for 2025 honors individual expression and experiences, echoing our deep desire for a world that's more caring, inclusive, and conscious. It’s a call to action to be true to your own vision. A celebration of one-of-a-kind originals,” stated Signe Byrdal Terenziani, managing director of 3 Days of Design.
3 Days of Design kicked off in 2013 as a joint initiative spearheaded by four Danish brands and was held in an old warehouse in Nordhavn. The show remains committed to curating a diverse program that is dedicated to the organization's core values of promoting innovative design and craftsmanship and a firm sustainability agenda. With a more stringent selection criteria in place, exhibitors are required to continuously improve their environmental impact. By setting higher standards for eligible exhibitors, the show's organizers uphold sustainability as a fundamental requirement that demands tangible action.
