HIGH POINT, NC -- Rizzy Home made its official debut this week at the High Point International Market. The new name reflects the company's diversification into the furniture business. Rizzy now imports rugs, home textiles and occasional and case goods furniture into the US market.

The new incarnation of Rizzy was unveiled this week at an expanded 7,200 sq. ft. showroom on the third floor of High Point's Showplace building.

Rizzy Home incorporates the former Rizzy Rugs, Home Texco and RizKids divisions, according to Mark Ferullo, vice president of Rizzy Home.

"We realize that diversification is essential if a vendor wants to gain penetration in the home furnishings retail channel," Ferullo commented. "We want to be a one-source shop for coordinated home furnishings products at the mid-price levels."

The latest addition to the Rizzy product line is a group of case goods and occasional furniture, noted Rizwan Ansari, who is based at parent headquarters in India. "Many of the pieces are made with reclaimed wood, so we also have a strong environmental story to tell," he noted.

Initially, much of the new furniture will be sold to retailers on a contained basis. Price points will center on the value-oriented mid-range level, with a typical dining room table and four chairs retailing for approximately $599. "We are also offering many unique occasional pieces. When retailers go into a store, they want to buy something, and the want to bring something home with them," said Ferullo.

"With the addition of our furniture offerings, Rizzy Home now has products to accessorize all of the rooms in a home," noted Ferullo."Our product offerings include both hand-made and machine-made rugs, bedding for any age, furniture case goods, accent pillows, throws, placemats, table runners and curtains."
