CAIRO, EGYPT -- OW Hospitality is the new name of the hospitality division of Oriental Weavers Group, according to Mohamed Farid Khamis, chairman of the world-wide manufacturer and marketer of floor coverings. A major part of the restructuring will be greatly expanded contract carpet marketing operations in the U.S., with new sales and marketing headquarters in Dalton, GA.

OW Hospitality will continue to operate with a separate sales staff which reports to Mike Riley, president of Oriental Weavers USA.  Hope Quintanar-Case is national sales manager.

Prior to the re-organization and re-branding, Oriental Weavers' hospitality company was known as Cambridge Weavers Ltd., which operated in the United States as C.W. Hospitality.

C.W. Hospitality has now been merged into Oriental Weavers USA and will be known as OW Hospitality, according to Khamis.

"While the Oriental Weavers Group has been a major player in the hospitality market throughout Asia, Europe, and the Middle East over the past 25 years, the company will now focus its established US infrastructure and resources on the US market," Khamis said.

"The merged US operation and increased design, planning and sales staffs will create a seamless point of contact for design and architectural firms working not only in the US, but also on projects around the globe," Khamis added.

" The integration and consolidation of another OW category and brand within our organization is  a natural progression and will allow us to better support the existing hospitality sales and marketing group in the US while also providing full design support services to many US firms with projects overseas."  said  Michael Riley, president of Oriental Weavers USA. "We now  have the ability to manage projects and provide one face to our partners around the world."

Expansion of Carpet Constructions
Under OW Hospitality Brand

Until now, the hospitality division has specialized in high styled axminster carpets for hotels, casinos and cruise ships worldwide. As OW Hospitality, the company plans to add such constructions as hand tufted, machine tufted and printed qualities in order to  become a full service hospitality and contract source.

OW Hospitality is currently adding significant capacity with eight new high speed axminster looms which will add over 900,000 square meters ( 2.9 million sq. ft.)  in annual production capacity. The expansion will be complete in early 2011.

" In the very near future, the company also intends to add the same high speed looms to its production unit in China," said Khamis.

While adding looms and capacity, the company has also made significant investments in expanding its design, planning and sales staff around the globe. OW Hospitality’s staffing support is spread between offices in Cairo, Dubai, London and the United States.

"In order to utilize global assets and take advantage of the organization’s worldwide corporate structure and management team, we have decided to fully integrate the operation under the same management structure currently in place for all other flooring related businesses," said Khamis. "The assets and synergies of our many other floor covering operations in the Oriental Weavers Group should be fully utilized to provide the best possible offerings and service to the worldwide hospitality market," he added.

"The new strategy and global branding effort for OW Hospitality will allow the company to operate seamlessly around the globe as one organization to better serve the hospitality market worldwide," Khamis concluded.

The company will  launch the new OW Hospitality logo, innovative color pom box, and the entire global brand story in an expanded show space at the Domotex 2011 show , Jan.15 to 18, in Hannover, Germany  and the 2011 Hospitality Design Expo May 18 to 20 in Las Vegas.
