JAIPUR LIVING WINS 2017 AMERICA'S MAGNIFICENT CARPET AWARD

ATLANTA -- Jaipur Living was honored with an America's Magnificent Carpets Award at the January 13 event's gala and presentation ceremony capping off the winter 2017 edition of the Atlanta International Rug Market featuring the National Oriental Rug Show. The ceremony was held at the Westin Peachtree Plaza in downtown Atlanta.
Jaipur received the Magnificent Carpet Award in the Outdoor rug category for its Desert collection, illustrated by the Mohave design. An indoor-outdoor flatweave inspired by the traditional kilims of the desert region, Mohave was made from 100 percent polyester and available in both warm and bright colors.
Winner of the 2017 America's Magnificent Carpet Award in the Outdoor rug category, Mohave from the Jaipur Living Desert collection is a polyester flatweave.
The 2017 winners were chosen by an independent panel from nominations submitted to the Museum of Introductions, where they were displayed in a dramatic fourth floor gallery in AmericasMart's Building 1. Judges for this year's event included Betsy Riley, editor in chief of Atlanta Magazine and Atlanta Magazine's Home; Stephen Mathews, owner Mathews Furniture & Design in Atlanta; and Heather Hogan Roberts, Atlanta-based interior designer and owner of Ivy and Vine.
Presiding over the ceremony and presenting each individual award was Kevin Malkiewicz, vice president of leasing for Home & Rug at AmericasMart. In addition to the outdoor award, categories in the 2017 completion included hand-knotted/flat weave, hand-hooked/hand-tufted, machine made, antique, and licensee.
