LOLOI AND
KATE McROSTIE
IN LICENSING AGREEMENT
FOR
ACCENT RUGS

Kate McRostie

DALLAS -- Loloi Rugs has entered into a licensing agreement with artist Kate McRostie, according to Amir Loloi, founder and president of Loloi Rugs. The company's first McRostie accent and scatter rug collection will be introduced at the New York Home Fashions Market week March 8 to 12, 2010.

The hand-hooked, washable polyester rugs are made in China. The rugs are available in sizes  from 2x3 to 3x5. Suggested retail prices range from $24.99 to $59.99.  The collection will be shown at Loloi's new New York showroom, 295 Fifth Ave, Suite. #1009. Kate McRostie will be on hand to meet and greet customers at the showroom on Tuesday, March 9.

The first Loloi McRostie collection will be available in coastal, floral, holiday and everyday patterns, according to the company.

“We scoured the marketplace to find something fresh and new for the scatter category, which often suffers from throwaway designs with limited or kitschy style,” Loloi said. “With these new Kate McRostie designs, we are bringing our customers a higher level of style, complexity and refinement.”

In the tradition of European muralists, Kate McRostie's style reflects the colors and textures of Tuscany, Normandy and Provence. Placing decorative icons on sophisticated backgrounds, her patterned brushwork evokes the texture of sun-worn damask. "When the artwork is translated onto the hooked scatter and accent rugs at Loloi, the results are rich, stylish and on-trend with today’s most salable home products," noted Loloi.

“It's so exciting to see how Loloi has translated my paintings into such beautiful rugs,” said McRostie. “The unique textures and high quality of the rugs combined with the designs really offer something new to consumers. I am so pleased with the finished product and look forward to a long relationship with Amir Loloi and his team.”

McRostie’s designs, which are inspired by such references as antiques, world travels and flea market finds, are currently licensed on products from more than 40  manufacturers in such categories as gifts, stationery, dinnerware, kitchen décor, home décor, holiday, paper ware and party ware.

Categorized as “trenditional,”  the tagline for McRostie’s products is “Art from the heart for the home.”
