NATCO DETAILS PLANS FOR NEW TRISHA YEARWOOD RUG PROGRAM

Country music singer and cooking show host Trisha Yearwood will launch a licensed rug collection with Natco at the upcoming High Point Market. The rugs will be cross-merchandised with her Klaussner furniture collection.

NEW YORK -- Natco Home Group, the parent company of rug brand Central Oriental has detailed plans for its rug collaboration with country music singer, TV personality and cooking show host Trisha Yearwood.  Natco announced last week at New York Home Fashions Market that it will introduce buyers to Yearwood and her licensed rugs at its IHFC building showroom M436 at the upcoming High Point International Market, running from April 16-20, 2016.

Trisha Yearwood will appear at a Natco-hosted event on April 16 for the High Point launch. The Grammy Award winner segued into home furnishings as a result of her success as host of Trisha's Southern Kitchen, a cooking show on the Food Network.

Jim Thompson, vice president of sales and marketing for Rhode Island-based Natco Home Fashions, told RugNews.com the Natco rugs will be cross-merchandised with other Trisha Yearwood branded home products at the High Point showrooms of her licensees, Imax Worldwide (decorative accessories) and Klaussner Home Furnishings (furniture).

Jim Thompson, VP of sales and marketing for Natco Home Fashions, says Trisha Yearwood rugs will be initially targeted to stores selling the celeb's Klaussner furniture line.

"We are now finalizing the line and we will start with a modest launch of a few collections in a number of styles paired with the [KIaussner] furniture groups," said Thompson, who explained that the collection will be geared initially to the furniture store channel which is serviced through Natco's Central Oriental group.

A vignette at Natco's NY Home Fashions Market showroom gave a sneak peek at the transitional look of the Trisha Yearwood rug collection to debut at High Point Market.

At its High Point Market showroom, Natco will cross-merchandise Klaussner furniture and Imex accessories with its Yearwood rugs, and the rugs will be on display in vignettes at both Klaussner and Imex. "That is the way to do it.  When the customer comes in and sees these rugs in settings with the furniture they are already buying, it is a natural add-on."

Natco will focus on fresh designs in fashion colors such as the grey and cream pattern for its licensed Trisha Yearwood rug collection.

"What always works best is if buyers can see what the furniture looks like with a matching rug, a perfectly coordinated rug that fits the lifestyle. After market we will go out to the Klaussner customers who carry the furniture and say, 'You already have Trisha Yearwood furniture in your stores, and now we have the rugs designed to go with it.'"

Natco, which has owned a carpet making factory in Maine for 17 years but also imports product from Turkey, Egypt and China, will finalize the new collection with Yearwood by the end of March. The Grammy-winning singer, Food Network host and best-selling cookbook author said her designs are all about comfort and accessibility.
