SADDLE BROOK, NJ -- Stewart Hay has been named to the new position of vice president of tufted production and product development for Nourison Industries, according to Alex Peykar, president.
In his new post, Hay will focus on tufted broadloom production at Nourison's 500,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in China's Shandong Provence. Nourison manufactures high end textured and printed broadloom at the plant, which began production in early 2007.
"I look forward to helping to develop new products and programs as Nourison continues to expand in this product category," saud Hay.
Hay comes to Nourison with over 30 years experience in wool production. He also brings over 20 years of experience in wool carpet manufacturing, particularly in tufting.
Hay was formerly the owner and president of Glen Eden Wool Carpets, producing a line of specialized wool carpets known for innovation, quality and customization. He continued to expand the luxury brand into woven imports and custom hand-tufted products. He sold the company in 2009. "Hay shares the same passion and innovative spirit that have come to define Nourison. “His knowledge of wool and tufted manufacturing, combined with his knowledge of the U.S. luxury market makes him a unique talent that will help us both here and in China," said Peykar.
"We welcome his expertise and creativity to maximize the tremendous potential that exists.â€
