NEW YORK -- For the upcoming New York Home Fashions Market, Mohawk Home debuts three new rug collections woven in the U.S., with some crafted in new constructions.
"It has been an incredible year of innovation for the Mohawk Home team and we are so proud to introduce our latest collections, as well as several brand new constructions, at this New York market," said Kimberly Hill, creative director, Mohawk Home.
The Villa collection, a Mohawk exclusive, grows the company's new indoor/outdoor rug offering. Crafted of low, cut-pile polyester, it is constructed to add a new level of softness to outdoor spaces while also offering crisp definition. Villa also features unmatched drying capabilities, which makes it a perfect companion for outdoor spaces exposed to the elements. From coastal leaves that highlight Pantone's Greenery color of the year to sophisticated decorative tiles, this range includes warm reds, tranquil blues and refreshing greens paired with complementary naturals to give this dynamic collection textural exclusivity.
The Persian-influenced Heirlooms collection features a timeless aesthetic with its rustic, coarse construction. Heirlooms emulates the craftsmanship of a hand-knotted rug where the cotton warp and weft become a part of the visual. The use of cotton opposed to a jute warp gives the rug drape, allowing for it to fold like a traditional rug. The Persian knot construction is one-of-a-kind with an authentic look and feel. Patina color options give the collection an aged, vintage appearance, and the collection includes a soft, cosmetics palette; an inviting, global jewel tones palette; and a cool, urbane industrial palette.
Influenced by the Himalayan region, the Tibetan collection reworks the beauty and nature of a Nepalese-style, hand-crafted wool rug. Using a large, synthetic wool-like yarn, Mohawk creates a durable, stain-resistant rug. Designs are an updated take on Aztec patterns, and offered in a stylish array of casual colors with a cosmetic palette containing a blushing rose, dusty blue, gray and natural, and a foundry palette that utilizes cool and steely grays paired with a flaxen beige.
