Capel debuts Lineas, a hand-tufted in India collection made with 100 percent all-natural, undyed.
HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Capel Rugs is unveiling three versatile new collections of luxurious, all-natural, undyed wool rugs at the High Point Market, October 14th-18th, in Market Square space 112.
The new collections expand Capel’s selection of elegant, all-natural wool rugs – a category that is gaining momentum at retail as consumers increasingly seek out products that combine style with sustainability. These latest introductions expand the company’s offerings with three high-value, on-trend looks that range from transitional solids to contemporary and modern designs.
Leading off the introductions is Lineas, a fashionable collection of geometric patterns hand-tufted in India with 100 percent all-natural, undyed wool. Available in four colorways and patterns, Lineas features a neutral tone-on-tone palette that fits any room effortlessly. The choices include graphite, gesso, vellum and canvas.
“The lively, clean lines of this geometric-themed collection swing from contemporary to modern, depending on the room setting,” said Cameron Capel, president – sales and marketing for Capel Rugs. “The loop pile construction with a Hi-Lo pile provides a lush touch of comfort that adds to the appeal.”
Lineas is available in four sizes – 3’6” x 5’6”, 5’ x 8’, 7’9” x 9’9” and 9’ x 12’. These rugs may retail for $549.
Capel Rugs’ second new all-natural, undyed wool collection is Zen Garden. Hand-tufted in India of 100 pure wool, Zen Garden features a comfy combination of cut-and-loop and Hi-Lo pile. The collection features two patterns: gravel and sand, both in serene colorways that combine subtle ivory and white tones.
“The all-neutral, tone-on-tone palette is reminiscent of the sand and gravel found in a Zen garden,” Cameron Capel said. “The feeling they convey is both opulent and tranquil and is designed to elevate virtually any mood.”
Zen Garden is available in 3’6” x 5’6”, 5’ x 8’, 7’9” x 9’9” and 9’ x 12’ sizes. A 5’ x 8’ rug may retail for $449.
Vail, Capel Rugs’ third new all-wool collection, also features a transitional, geometric-inspired theme. Hand-knotted in India of 100 percent undyed, natural wool yarns with a deep and luxurious hi-lo pile, Vail is available in three colorways – shadow, snow and fawn – and three sizes: 5’ x 8’, 7’6” x 9’6” and 9’ x 12’. A 5’ x 8’ rug may retail for $949.
“The versatility of this collection is amazing,” Cameron Capel said. “The subtle, soft geometric patterns of these rugs enable them to be placed in any room of any style, adding both warmth and opulent texture.”
Among the three all wool collections making their market debut is the hand-knotted Vail series.
At market, Capel Rugs also is introducing several other hand-woven and machine-made collections. They include Cairo, Sirius and Boho Bliss.
Cairo is a machine-made contemporary collection inspired by the landmarks of Cairo, from the blues of the Nile River to the ornate details found in ancient Egyptian temples. Woven on Wilton looms in Egypt of 75 percent olefin and 25 percent polyester, Cairo features a luxurious 3/8-inch pile.
Four colorways are offered, including valley, stone gray, nile and temple. The collection comes in five sizes – 2’7” x 7’10”, 3’11” x 5’7”, 5’3” x 7’6”, 7’10” x 11’2” and 9’2” x 12’1”. A 5’ x 8’ may retail for $399.
“Cairo is constructed with impeccable quality and a luxurious pile of synthetic yarns for easy care,” Capel said. “Dimension, texture and rich hues are the hallmarks of this dynamic new design.”
The sophisticated designs in the Kerrington collection are on point. Often thought of as traditional patterns, these fresh new color combinations and open fields of these designs can be easily placed into transitional interiors. Kerrington is intricately hand knotted and crafted in India of 100 percent wool in robin’s egg, olive multi, natural and mushroom colorways. A 5’6" x 8’6" rug may retail for $1,949.
Sirius, also new, is a wonderfully textured, easy-care, indoor-outdoor collection. Hand woven in India of PET, Sirius features thick, knobby yarns that are durable as well as environmentally friendly. Well-suited for outdoor use, Sirius pairs easily with any room style, from modern to traditional.
Three colorways are available – flint, pearl and sand. Four sizes also are offered – 4’ x 6’, 5’x 8’, 8’ x 10’ and 9’ x 12’. A 5’ x 8’ rug may retail for $499.
Rounding out Capel Rugs’ slate of new collections for the October market is another easy care, Capel Anywhere collection called, Boho Bliss, a new transitional design featuring woven geometric patterns and neutral, nature-inspired color options. Hand woven in India of PET yarns, Boho Bliss features a Hi-Lo pile and multiple textures.
Three colors are available – stone, wood and alabaster – along with four sizes – 4’ x 6’, 5’ x 8’, 8’ x 10’ and 9’ x 12’. Boho Bliss is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. A 5’ x 8’ rug may retail for $399.
At market, Capel Rugs also is adding new patterns and colorways to several best-selling collections. These additions include:
-- Avanti, an innovative, 100 percent wool, transitional collection with primitive and tribal influences, is featuring two new patterns and one new size. The new patterns are Francesca, in a latte colorway, and Vivienne, in grotto blue. Both patterns feature a Hi-Lo pile. In addition, all patterns and colorways in the existing Avanti collection are adding a new 7’9” x 10’ size. The new model will eventually replace the previous 8’ x 10’ size, which is being phased out. The new size is expected to be available in the Spring of 2024.
-- Ethereal, a hand-knotted wool collection is being expanded with two colorways – navy and natural. Available in a variety of subtle, all-over patterns with a distinctly modern vibe, Ethereal fits equally well in both traditional and contemporary settings.
-- Pinnacle, a colorful transitional collection with a distinctive ombré look in 100 percent wool, is adding two colorways – navy and natural. Inspired by natural gemstones, Pinnacle is hand-knotted by artisans in India.
