Now, however, after visiting two Domotex events, Sasson said he is giving it a go with the expectation of growing the company's dealer network. He said that Rug Art's innovative and original designs will help it stand apart from other rug exhibitors. Rug Art will be housed in Hall 17, Stand B33.

"We are very different from other Domotex exhibitors, and different from many of the other rug companies there, so I decided to take a chance and do it because I am looking for international dealers to represent my line. Domotex is a totally different show because you get dealers from all over the world."
Rug Art, which unveiled a Chicago showroom in August, will be presenting about 25 rugs at Domotex. The selection includes designs from its new hand-crafted Premier collection, which mixes a range of luxurious fibers for added dimensionality, including Tibetan highland wool, Chinese silk, pashmina, linen and bamboo. Rugs are meticulously crafted in Nepal and India.

The studio is represented by showrooms in Boston, Dania, Fla., Del Mar, Calif, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, San Francisco, and Seattle. "We are rug designers not dealers, we don't sell to stores, we create one piece at a time," Sasson said. "People are looking for things that are different and we are giving this to them." At Domotex, Sasson says he believes international interior designers and dealers will respond well to his brand's innovative American touch.
