10132015 High Point Market Fall Preview Part 1

10/13/2015

HIGH POINT - Armed with new collections, rug suppliers' expectations are soaring as they head to the High Point Market. The brands featured in our new fall product roundup, are setting trends with rugs in hot new brilliant gemstone colors, and even spicing up neutral palettes in tones of lustrous pearl and platinum.

Neutrals are a fact of life in the interior design field, but the success of patchwork and overdyed rugs in deep saturated colors, as well as apparel's move away from basic black has triggered an upbeat, glamorous approach to brilliant jewel tones, pearly greys and taupes that takes full advantage of the lustrous viscose fibers in rugs that will be presented in showrooms next week.

Amer Rugs

Art silk combined with New Zealand wool gives rugs in the new Urban collection by Amer the lustrous grey colorations evoking South Sea pearls.

Amer Rugs introduces the Urban collection which is hand-tufted of New Zealand blended wool and art silk [$399 for the 5x8]. "The collection will target those consumers who have a taste for beautiful hand-knotted rugs but can't afford one," said Tanuj Gupta, Amer president. Inspired by the colors of the company's best-selling rugs, the palette features lustrous watery greys, often with a blue cast recalling South Sea pearls.

Known for its high-end hand knotted rugs crafted in India, Amer Rugs expanded into mid-priced products in 2015 with new weaves and yarns. Gupta announced in July that every design in the 29 collections introduced in this year would always be in stock and rapid-shipped.

At High Point, the company will launch its new, award-winning catalog featuring the 29 new collections, many like the hand-knotted Joy  and Mount Route and the hand-tufted Kanoka, featuring gemstone colors as well as fashion neutrals.
