HIGH POINT TREND-ALERT: GLOBAL STYLES POP WITH COLORS, INCLUDING PLENTY OF PRETTY PINKS

HIGH POINT, N.C. -- High Point Market, considered one of the most important barometers of home fashion trends, will prove that the global designs so popular in the past several seasons continue to be in favor. However, the latest crop of tribal inspired designs get recast in fresh color combinations with a vibrant and bold -- and sometimes surprisingly -- feminine twist.

Rug makers across the board have been exploring global designs in the rugs they are introducing at the Fall 2016 edition of High Point Market, running from Oct. 22-26. This time around, though, they are reinventing the familiar motifs of classic Persian rugs, Moroccans, the American Southwest, and other folklore with unexpected flourishes, making what's old seem new again.

Pink proves the pop up color of the moment, but that doesn't mean trendy blues, classic reds and creamy stalwarts are stepping aside for good. These lively combinations, lend a free-spirited vibe to the floor, which is so in sync with today's boho-chic, modern, contemporary -- and even Scandinavian -- design scenarios.
