07272017 Oriental Weavers Grows Made in America & Outdoor Categories with Summer Intros
By Carol Tisch

Buyers looking for fashion's newest colors and designs will find them in OW's Dawson, a debuting Made-in-America collection.

LAS VEGAS -- Oriental Weavers' comprehensive lineup of introductions for the summer 2017 Las Vegas Market continues to build market buzz with innovations in design, weave, and directional color.

What's more, the company is on track with its Made in America production goals for 2017 and beyond. "We've introduced seven new collections for summer markets, two of them Made in the USA, so we will be able to deliver them as soon as September," Jonathan Witt, president OW, told RugNews.com. "We've been growing our domestic production and capacity for the last three years, and 35% of our rugs are going to be made in the U.S. by the end of the year"

The two new American-made lines, Beckett and Dawson, debut along with three additional indoor collections from Egypt: Luna, Raleigh and Verona.
Underscoring its dominant position in the outdoor category, OW also launches two in-out collections for summer shoppers: Barbados and Marina. Asked about the strides made in fashion and weave in all-weather rugs, Witt explained, "When the outdoor category started, it was very simple with one to two color flatweaves.
"We stepped it up a little bit by adding some loops and textures to those two-color looks. Then we were able to make the machines go to five-color, and played with different yarns. We've continued from there, and now we have an eight-color. The Barbados collection we're marketing this summer is an outdoor cut and loop construction that buyers really liked in Atlanta," Witt said. "We're stepping up the game with high-lows and other different textures. It's way a to bring newness to the category."

The new Beckett collection by OW incorporates 50-plus colors in designs spanning abstract to traditional themes.
