STARK STUDIO RUGS CREATES ESSENTIALS COLLECTION FOR E-COMMERCE CHANNEL

Stark Studio Rugs introduced its Essentials collection featuring face-to-face Wilton weave area rugs at the January 2019 edition of Las Vegas Market.

LAS VEGAS -- At last week's Las Vegas Market, fast-growing Stark Studio Rugs introduced the Essentials collection of machine-made and handmade area rugs in a move signaling the company's intention to delve deeper into the brick and mortar and online retail channels.

"Stark Studio Rugs is our line of sophisticated high quality offerings that is sold at accessible price points through high-end dealers and retailers nationwide and in Canada," said Chad Stark, senior vice president, STARK. "As we continue to expand our brand, both in terms of capabilities and reach, it seemed like a natural progression to add an e-commerce component. To mark our entry into this market, Stark Studio Rugs' new Essentials Collection will be available via a small number of e-commerce sites, as well as through select dealers," Stark explained.

Initial Essentials offerings include an assortment curated from STARK's broadloom division. These include Wilton-weave carpet designs that have been top sellers as cut and sew fabricated rugs, which will now be programmed in standard sizes by Stark Studio Rugs with custom sizes available.

Based on the success of STARK's trend-setting animal motif broadloom designs and colors, it's no wonder that four of the debuting  machine-made rug lines feature those patterns. Deerfield, Derning, Kalahari and Tabby were prominently displayed in a dramatic vignette in the reception area of the company's showroom on the ground floor of World Market Center Building C during market.

Deerfield, an antelope motif and STARK's best-selling Wilton weave animal print broadloom for custom rug fabrication, is now available in programmed rugs.

The rugs are face-to-face Wilton-weave -- made in Turkey of 100 percent polypropylene -- and offered in a range of animal prints from the number-one selling antelope design to a snow leopard, jaguar and an abstracted tiger pattern. The color palette includes beige tones from almond to sand and toffee, indigo blues, silvers and stone.

Two additional machine-made collections, also face-to-face Wilton weaves made in Turkey, feature abstract motifs. Tasha is crafted of 37 percent polypropylene and 27 percent poly silk, while Hopkins is made from 84 percent polypropylene and 16 percent acrylic. Inaugural Essentials offerings also include three handmade collections -- Mantra, Cosette and Kiyan.

A catalog featuring the Essentials collection was available for buyers attending Las Vegas Market.

A sophisticated jungle theme, with lots of plants and a leaf motif wallpaper, set the stage for Stark Studio Rugs' new machine-made animal patterned rugs.
