CAPEL RUGS TO INTRODUCE SIX FASHION-FORWARD COLLECTIONS AT SUMMER MARKETS

Capel is set to unveil Simply Gabbeh, a hand-loomed wool series inspired by classic Persian Gabbehs, but in chic updated color palettes and transitional-looking designs ($599 in 5x8).

TROY, N.C. -- Building on the momentum of an outstanding spring High Point Market, Capel Rugs is introducing six new collections of fashion-forward rugs designed to help retailers spark new store traffic and sales.

At the summer markets in Atlanta and Las Vegas, the company's summer market introductions include fresh transitional, contemporary and traditional designs in a range of popular constructions and price points. In addition, Capel Rugs will feature an assortment of its most successful new lines introduced at the April High Point Market, including additions to the bestselling Williamsburg line of licensed "trend meets tradition" rugs.

"We had a great April market, with attendance and sales both showing big gains," said Cameron Capel, vice president of national accounts for Capel Rugs. "Our introductions were well received across the board. We've been listening very closely to our customers and sales staff, and that has helped us create new designs that meet specific needs emerging in the market. This collaborative approach gives us an even better understanding of what excites and motivates today's consumers."

At the Atlanta International Area Rug Market, Capel Rugs will exhibit in its showroom in AmericasMart Building 1, space 3-C-15. At Las Vegas Market, Capel Rugs will exhibit in its new permanent showroom in the World Market Center's Building A, Space A-133.

"We can't wait to show buyers and designers our new showroom in Las Vegas," said Capel. "It features a fresh layout with faux-brick wall treatments that provide a perfect backdrop for our trendsetting designs." Capel added that the company's showroom in Atlanta, honored in 2015 with a Best Visual Display award from the market, also is "very easy to shop."

Capel's featured introductions at the upcoming Atlanta and Las Vegas markets include:

BARLETTA

Hand knotted in India of 100 percent wool, Barletta is a new transitional range offered in five colors -- seafoam, oyster, slate, natural light blue and wheat. A 5'6" x 8'6" rug may retail for $1,549.

BODRUM

A new traditional, zero-pile design, Bodrum is hand knotted in India of 100 percent wool. Three patterns and colorways are available: gold/navy, natural/sage and khaki/spice. A 5'6" x 8'6" rug may retail for $1,249.

CALLISTA

Hand tufted in India, Callista is a 100 percent wool design in transitional styling that features different-sized yarns for added textural interest. It's available in three color ways -- cream, navy and mocha. A 5' x 8' rug may retail for $449.

GRAVITY

Machine woven in Belgium of 70% polyester and 30% olefin, Gravity is a new casual transitional design with a linear motif in three colors -- charcoal, blue and cream. The pile height is 1.25 inches, for a soft, plush feel. A 5'3" x 7'6"' rug may retail for $449.

KODARI

Kodari is a new collection of traditional and transitional designs with an erased feel in four colors -- grey, light blue/grey, ivory and multi ivory. The group is machine made in India of 80 percent New Zealand wool and 20 percent viscose. A 5'3" x 7'6" rug may retail for $699.

SIMPLY GABBEH

Along with these new collections, Capel Rugs also will spotlight a variety of hot new designs from High Point that many Atlanta and Las Vegas buyers will be seeing for the first time. They include two new additions to the Williamsburg line, Ashland and Shalimar Resist, the first jacquard constructions Capel has produced for Williamsburg. Three new colorways will be shown in Williamsburg's Filigree collection, an elegant over-scaled damask pattern.

Also being shown for the first time during the summer markets are Kevin O'Brien's six new Caravan collection rugs, the first machine made constructions in the licensed designer's line; Viking Stripe, a new hand knotted addition to the licensed Genevieve Gorder line; two new colorways (graphite and mushroom) in the Kasbah hand knotted transitional collection; a new seafoam version of Tangier, a transitional machine woven design; and Austin, a collection of four machine woven, 100 percent olefin casual designs in six colors.
