LAUREN RUGS SCORE AT SUMMER MARKETS; DEBUTING NEXT IN NEW YORK AND HIGH POINT

LAS VEGAS -- Safavieh unveiled an extensive collection of Lauren Ralph Lauren Home area rugs to shoppers at summer markets in Atlanta and Las Vegas, with rollouts planned for NY Home Fashions Market, Sept. 24-27, and High Point Market in October.
"We are excited to introduce a whole new collection of Lauren Ralph Lauren rugs that will be available to consumers this fall," said Safavieh principal, Arash Yaraghi. The label has wide appeal, and Yaraghi already reports orders from a broad range of retailers, from top department stores to home furnishings e-commerce sites.
"In terms of aesthetics, the designs represent the spirit of the brand. They are inspired by the complete range of lifestlyes of the Ralph Lauren Home couture rug collection, but made in more moderate prices."

The comprehensive new rug collection offers a choice of iconic Ralph Lauren lifestyle looks: "If it's Beach House, there is a rug; if it's Fifth Avenue apartment, there is a rug," Yaraghi said. "It gives the consumer the opportunity to match the rug to the Lauren lifestyle that best suits their own personal style, and to coordinate the rugs with furniture and other pieces in the Ralph Lauren Home collection."
A flatweave of wool and viscose, Menswear Plaid by Lauren Ralph Lauren takes a fresh look at a classic motif with on-point brown and gray palette.
The new line, which took just short of nine months to bring to market, features hand-knotted, hand-loomed and Axminster weaves for the most part in natural materials."We are using wool, sisal, hemp and viscose for most of the casual and coastal designs, which are made in India. The traditional designs are made in Turkey in a combination of synthetic and natural materials," Yaraghi explained.
"Our clients at summer markets are very excited," he continued. "We are going to have distribution in most large retailers, as well as e-commerce." Asked what buyers were responding to, he said different customers liked different collections. "Department stores like the simple natural looks; online retailers like the traditional designs more because visually they are so Ralph Lauren."
This sophisticated Menswear Tattersall area rug captures the essence of Lauren style with graphic grid and heathery tones created in a flatweave of wool and viscose.
Lauren Ralph Lauren indoor-outdoor flatweave designs, Performance Stripe and Atlantic Stripe are woven on Axminster looms to replicate the look of flatweave kilims. Among the many flatweave collections, one standout series is hand-woven of wool and viscose. Designs are inspired by men's suiting fabrics and include Menswear Stripe, Menswear Plaid and Menswear Tattersall, which Yaraghi describes as classic Ralph Lauren style.
The collection's traditional designs are offered in a mix of fibers. Some are tufted in India in wool in a loop construction. Other designs are in a mix of wool yarns creating a heathered look. A selection of traditional Persian medallion and Oushak designs are power-loomed in polypropylene pile.
Natural fibers make a big statement in the new Lauren Ralph Lauren area rug collection, including the hand-woven 100% jute Basket Weave design offered in three colorways.
Popular at summer markets were hand-woven jute designs in a variety of textures from thick basket weaves to chunky marine rope styles.
The collection will premiere in the Ralph Lauren Home showroom at High Point Market in October, and it will be available to customers at Safavieh's Broadway showroom for the September New York Home Fashions Market.
