DESIGN ECOLOGY WITH CLODAGH

NEW YORK - RevitaRugs will sponsor "Exploring Design Ecology" featuring celebrity designer Clodagh as keynote speaker at the ASID Design Matters Forum at REALM, in South Norwalk, CT, on May 20 from 4 to 9 p.m.

According to Azita Goldman vice president, RevitaRugs the company's founder, Hamid Zarei jumped at the chance to sponsor such an important event. "Area rugs are an integral part of any interior, and their proper purchase and maintenance directly affects indoor air quality," he said noting that area rugs act like air filters, collecting dust, pollen and bacteria from the air. "RevitaRug is so proud to bring to the American Society of Interior Designers an event that will have Clodagh, an award-winning interior designer, furniture and accessories designer, and global nomad as keynote speaker.  We are also excited to announce that the evening's agenda will also include an expert panel - which will have Goldman on the dais; educational units; a trade showcase; a book signing by Westport based interior designer Trudy Dujardin; a "Chair-ity" Auction; and plenty of time for networking during cocktails and dinner," Zarel explained.

Keynote speaker Clodagh is Irish-born and Manhattan -based head of a design empire where she creates everything from makeup packaging to million-square foot hotels. She oversees three distinct divisions: Clodagh Signature, the product design group for licensing; Clodagh Collection, an on-line showroom highlighting Clodagh and carefully edited home furnishings and accessories from all over the  Clodagh's mission is to make sure in her broad range of projects, there is something beautiful to experience. Her bestselling book, "Total Design," is a retrospective of her work and philosophy.

The Panelists:

Azita Goldman of revitaRUGS describes herself as an investor in Eco-Friendly Technologies, and an environmental activist who believes energy is the third revolution in "economic terms."

Alix G. Perrachon of Alix Unlimited is a writer, speaker, and consultant in the rug industry to the interior design trade and private buyers. She is the author of The Decorative Carpet - Fine Handmade Rugs in Contemporary Interiors. She lectures on the importance of handmade rugs in interior design.

Trudy Dujardin ASID, LEED AP+ID+C is nationally known for her passion for eco-elegance, as well as award-winning interiors that combine sophistication, elegant use of color, and an intuitive understanding of her clients' lifestyles. The adjunct professor at Fairfield University in Connecticut, prides herself on her graceful approach to gently green design.

Seth Leitman, referred to as "The Green Living Guy," is a renowned best-selling author, editor and expert on green-eco-friendly lifestyles. In addition to authoring/editing a series of nine books which are soon to be a video series, entitled the "Green Guru Guide," he hosts a radio talk show on Blog Talk Radio and is a featured expert on WPIX 11 in New York City.

Hollie Sutherland, ASID LEED AP of Hollis Interiors, LLC is a full service interior and sustainable design firm known for its ability to translate a client's vision into a clean, classic, sophisticated design. Hollis Interiors approaches projects with the thought, Think Green Inside.

The ASID chapter will auction off several pairs of antique chairs that were restored by Connecticut design students as part of their "Student Chair-ity Challenge," with proceeds to benefit Her Haven, a Connecticut-based non-profit organization that helps women in need by designing spaces that help them reach their full potential.

The Forum will take place at the high-tech, smart home retailer Realm.
