02022016 Couristan Kicks Off 90th Anniversary Celebrations At Atlanta Market

2/2/2016

ATLANTA - Happy ninetieth birthday, Couristan! The international rug and broadloom manufacturer celebrated its nine-decade anniversary with a Roaring Twenties bash at the Winter 2016 Atlanta International Rug Market on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016. The stage was set at the company's AmericasMart showroom, with windows designed to communicate the party theme, replete with brass horns sparkling against black and white deco-inspired rugs. Inside, customers and industry colleagues were treated to specialty cocktails, refreshments, and a live jazz band. Buyers were also drawn to special promotional discounts on orders written during the event.

Founded in 1926 by brothers, Basil and George Couri, and partner, David Murad, Couristan is now run by George Couri's sons, George and Ron Couri. To learn more about the company's milestones, innovations and plans for future growth, read this special RugNews.com interview here. The Roaring Twenties inspired dramatic window displays of classic rugs that fit the Art Deco style in vogue when Couristan was founded in 1926. Floating brass instruments and cutouts of jazz musicians set the stage.
