SAFAVIEH CROSS-CATEGORY COWHIDE COLLECTION IN ATLANTA AND LAS VEGAS

ATLANTA -- Safavieh is launching a comprehensive program of cross-category cowhide rugs, accent furniture, decorative pillows and lamps at the Atlanta International Rug Market and the Las Vegas Market.
Both faux leather and real leather products are included in the assortment.
Targeting growing demand from designer showrooms to big box stores, the multi-tiered program includes faux cowhide rugs in addition to Brazilian and Argentinean hides.
“It is a trickle- down effect: consumers see beautiful cowhide rugs in designer show houses and decorating magazines and they want to recreate the look in their own homes,†said Cyrus Yaraghi, a Safavieh principal.. “Demand is growing as rustic style and natural roughhewn wood furniture gain in popularity.â€
Safavieh will introduce hair-on-hide cowhide rugs from Argentina priced from $13 to $26 per square foot, depending on color and quality. The collection includes eight brindles and natural shades and hides stenciled with zebra and tiger markings.
The new Studio Leather collection will be unveiled with 20 SKUs, all hand stitched patchwork designs crafted in India. Designs range from square patchwork in natural cowhide tones, to appliqued multicolor cutouts in vivid colors. Suggested retail is $22 per foot or $880 for the 5x8 rug.
Safavieh’s new faux cowhide rugs will be introduced in two patterns in three colorways. Power loomed of acrylic yarn in China, the 5’ x 5’6†rugs retail from $120.

Accent pillows range from patchwork squares and stripes to oval appliqued cutouts in natural Argentinian cowhide. Several designs in the collection are foil stamped in gold or silver. All pillows have micro suede backings and feather and down fill and are made in India. Retail in the 18-inch square size is $150 for a set of two; $218 for 22-inch.
In the furniture category, cowhide is used as an accent on leather club chairs, and for upholstered ottomans and poufs. The 18-inch cube-shaped Ricardo ottoman will be introduced with hand-stitched patches in two colorways: brown and ivory or grey and ivory. Made in China; suggested retail is $248.
The Safavieh Atlanta showroom is in 5-C-1 and A-101 at the Las Vegas World Market Center.
