LARGEST FURNITURE RETAIL COMPLEX

RAPIDS, MN - HOM Furniture Inc. will open the largest furnishings
complex of its kind in the state of Minnesota at 10 a.m. on Saturday,
February 28. Located in Little Canada, MN, the 185,000-sq. ft. Furniture
& Design Center includes an 80,000-sq. ft. HOM Furniture showroom, a
35,000-sq. ft. Gabberts Design Studio and Fine Furniture showroom, a
60,000-sq. ft. DOCK 86 along with a 10,000-sq. ft. customer service and
product pick-up center.
"By
bringing all three of our brands together in one convenient shopping
destination, we can now provide our customers with hundreds of brands,
products, and custom design solutions to suit every budget," said Rod
Johansen, president and chief executive officer of HOM Furniture, Inc.
All three showrooms offer extensive assortments of area rugs from major
vendors.
The new
showroom is the second Gabberts brand in the metro area. The first
Gabberts showroom opened in 1959 at Galleria in Edina. Since HOM
Furniture purchased Gabberts in 2008, the company has opened Gabberts
showrooms in Sioux City, IA; Sioux Falls, SD; and Fargo, ND.
Connie
Post International, a furniture industry design firm designed the
interiors, Archnet USA, based in Stillwater, MN provided the exterior
design work and Ron Johnson Construction of Richmond, MN was the General
Contractor. The Furniture & Design Center is the latest step in HOM
Furniture's continued expansion.
HOM
Furniture Inc., operates two DOCK 86 showrooms in MN, five Gabberts
showrooms, and 15 HOM Furniture showrooms in MN, ND, WI, IA, and SD.
