NEW YORK - New York Home Fashions Market ushers in exciting new product
launches, line extensions into new categories and showroom expansions.
Buyers from big box stores to mass merchandisers have already scheduled
appointments with key vendors, and word is out that several heavy
hitters opted to screen new lines at the end of next week after the
market officially closes.
Couristan is making news as a first time exhibitor through an
arrangement to display at the showroom of venerable soft goods supplier,
Park B. Smith. Loloi will unveil a showroom that is three times larger
than its previous space, making room for growth in pillows, throws and
new categories of rugs.
Buyers will be treated to previews of new licensed collections and
expanded ones. United Weavers has just signed with Panama Jack, for
example, and Creative Home is vastly expanding its Laura Ashley line of
accent and area rugs. KAS Rugs will be previewing a new machine made
line from Bob Mackie Home which debuts at High Point next month, and
Bacova Guild is expanding its Jessica Simpson collection.
Time-enduring patterns and crafts remain directional, but innovative
techniques and technologies have expanded the possibilities for the
latest crop of rug introductions. So while traditional designs continue
to be re-cast with distressed looks and texture, popular blue and grey
color stories get tweaked and some unexpected bold colors begin to
surface.
Here is a glimpse of what rug makers will be showcasing during New York
Home Fashion Week, Sept. 28 to Oct. 1, 2015. New York City addresses
are listed for each company.

Market through an arrangement with Park B. Smith, Ltd., at whose

Easton, Marina and Moonwalk.
"With buyers seeing both the New York Market Center building and New
York Fashions Market as destinations where trends emerge for home
furnishings and textiles, we felt it was extremely important for the
Couristan brand to have a presence within both," stated Ron Couri,
President and CEO of Couristan.
The Easton collection, a face-to-face Wilton weave line from Couristan,
is crafted of heat-set Courtron ultra-fine polypropylene using a
multi-point and loom-carved technique. The rugs have a luxurious finish
