NEW YORK - The momentum is building to jewel tones in area rugs for
2016, but the trend has been ongoing in upcycled vintage patchwork and
overdyed rugs. At Safavieh, a first-time exhibitor at NY NOW, the rugs
were popular with designers, and continue to be best-sellers at the
company's retail store on Broadway in Manhattan. F.J. Kashanian
reported brisk business for saturated color, seen in its new Afghanistan
made wool Mykonos rug and stacks of over-dyed rugs at the show.
