NOURISON RUGS PREMIERE AT ICFF AND COLLECTIVE DESIGN SHOWS

Shining lights of Nourison's exhibit were the luminous rugs at left (from top, Silk Shadows, Twilight and City Chic) and glistening Mina Victory pillows.

NEW YORK - In addition to presenting rugs, broadloom and decorative pillows as a first-time exhibitor at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (May 16 to 19) at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, Nourison got double exposure during New York Design Week at the Calvin Klein Home-sponsored VIP lounge at the Collective Design Fair held May 13 to 17 at Skylight Clarkson Square in SoHo. At Collective Design, rugs produced in a licensing program with Calvin Klein Home were used to anchor conversation seating groups, as shown as a sneak preview to a scheduled trade launch in October 2015.

From left to right, Jeff Gonzales, Nicole Costello and Patrick Carroll of Nourison at the company's debut exhibit at ICFF report heavy traffic on opening day.

First day traffic at ICFF impressed the Nourison team manning the company's cram-packed booth.  "People who stopped by were very interested in doing business.  They were not casual buyers. The big hit by far was the City Chic rug collection by Michael Amini," said Jeff Gonzales, director home furnishings sales/director Latin American sales.  Crafted of hair on hide which is distressed with a metallic finish and a motif of hexagon tiles, the rug was a magnet for designers, according to Nicole Costello, the company's New York showroom manger.

"A big surprise was the response to the new Mini Victory Couture pillow collection," explained Patrick Carroll, account executive at Nourison. Launched at High Point Market last month, the collection winners are laser cut leather, beaded hair on hide, sheepskin and lambskin styles.

COLLECTIVE DESIGN SHOW

Downtown in SoHo, the three-year old Collective Design Fair attracted a high brow crowd art and collectible designs from the early 20th century through to present day works.  At the Calvin Klein Home VIP lounge, guests relaxed on new furniture and accessories from the designer's collection.  Conversational seating groups were anchored with new rugs which will officially be launched in October.

The Lucia Collection shown at Collective Design will be launched this fall.

Featured were two rugs from the new collections: The Lucia collection and the Varick collection.  Another collection, Moritz will also debut in October.

The fair was the first of several events scheduled in celebrations for Calvin Klein Home's 20th anniversary.
