STARK RETURNS TO HIGH POINT, CELEBRATES SHOWROOM OPENING

Jessica Hill of IMC officiates at the ribbon cutting for Stark Studio Rugs' Market Square showroom with Stark's Haynes Robinson, John Stark, Taylor van der Mandele and Greg Rosenblatt.

HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Stark Studio Rugs, a recently rebranded division of Stark Carpet, celebrated its return to High Point Market with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its new Market Square digs located at MS, #114.

The company took a five year break from High Point Market and quietly began introducing its new updated look and market strategy last year during last spring's High Point and with a more formal launch at The Rug Show at Javits in September, 2017.

"We've rebranded our wholesale rug division," Haynes Robinson, VP Product Development, Stark Carpet & Fabric, told RugNews.com at market. "It used to be Concepts International, and we've rebranded under the Stark name.

"We totally revamped the line and our business model, and we're going very strongly into the wholesale rug business. We had been approaching the market from more of a retail perspective last time. Now we're addressing furniture stores and rug stores. It's from a wholesale perspective."

Stark Studio Rugs returns to High Point with a bright and airy showroom showcasing its updated look.

Stark Studio area rugs will be available through Stark showrooms and as well as through to-the-trade showrooms and retailers. Currently the label currently has a nationwide network of 200 dealers, Stark Studio  Rugs' VP of sales Taylor van der Mandele said.

"Our products are available through all of the Stark showrooms and also the rest of our dealers across the country that we work with. So, we definitely have a nationwide network. We really set this space up to have a gallery-like feel. We wanted it to be very digestible when you come in so that you can see the entire product and it's not overwhelming. It's very appealing."

For High Point market the company introduced several new area rug designs that it anticipates adding to its running line in the fall, said van der Madele. "We have our entire current line showcased here, but we also have a lot of products that we're looking to bring in to the line in the fall. We always have new products coming in the door and we're always really excited  to show them."

Stark, after a five year break, headed back to High Point with the goal of expanding its Stark Studio Rugs wholesale business.

Added Robinson, "The collection is pretty vast -- we have pushed more traditional at this market than at past markets--We're hoping to get some traction on that."
