AMER RUGS EXPANDS AMERICAN MANAGEMENT TEAM, APPOINTS PUROHIT TO BOARD

NORCROSS, Ga. -- Mahesh Choudhary, founder of Amer Rugs, has announced the appointment of rug industry veteran Sanjay Purohit of JTN Rugs and Home to its board of directors.
Purohit, who has worked with rug suppliers and manufacturers around the world for the past 26 years, has been named executive director. As founder of JTN Rugs and Home, a recent entrant in the field of carpets and home accessories, Purohit now brings his expertise, consultancy skills, wide-ranging experience, and proven performance to Amer.
"Over the years, we have built a solid foundation for Amer. As the company is now poised for the next level of growth, we are confident that with Sanjay on board we will achieve ever greater success," said Choudhary in making the announcement.
Earlier this year, Amer Rugs announced a reorganization of the Georgia-based company's leadership structure, with the founder's son, Raj Choudhary, taking the reins as director of the firm. At that time, orders had reached an all-time historic high, and the younger Choudhary was tasked with taking the company to the next level -- something he says he looks forward to continuing with the help of Purohit.
The goal is to grow as a global conglomerate, and to that end, the American management team is working to ensure that orders placed in North America are processed and fulfilled correctly in India before final delivery to the client. "This is the commitment Amer makes to all of its clients: world-class quality and service," Raj Choudhary explained.
Since its founding over three decades ago, Amer Rugs has grown to become an international operation with a dedicated staff and team of thousands of weavers and designers. Amer's production facility includes all aspects of the carpet manufacture process under one roof, which allows carpet designers to collaborate directly with weavers, dyers and finishers to produce unique rugs.
