RUG MAKERS ROLL OUT HOTTEST LOOKS FOR NY HOME FASHIONS MARKET

NEW YORK -- The Fall 2016 New York Home Fashions Market running from Sept. 19-22 will offer big box retailers, discounters and domestics chains a chance to pick up last minute buys for spring, and shop the rug industry's hottest trends for fall 2017.

Reworking iconic Persian designs and motifs seems to be the "it" look for the fall 2017 retail selling season with many rug vendors reimagining classic Persian motifs for modern tastes. Still, market shoppers will also see new takes on the popular trellis designs featured in the past few seasons, fresh ideas incorporating faded and erased looks (sometimes amped up by judicious use of vivid colors), abstract painterly designs and soft contemporary florals to name some of the other design directions being explored this fall.

But, regardless of style, whether a classic Oushak, distressed Persian design or contemporary art-like look, soft tones of blues and grays remain the colors of the season. That said, some rug vendors continue to venture into bolder color stories, offering buyers rugs featuring hot pinks, vivid reds and bright yellows, for consumer's looking for a more daring statement.

COURISTAN

Couristan offers shoppers a look at its new face-to-face Wilton woven, erased style Vintage collection, crafted of a blend of heat-set frieze polypropylene and polyester.
