The Rug Show's Leader Ramin Mobayen Dies at 51

 The president of Mobayen Rugs in Beverly Hills, California, he went on to found The Rug Show.

LOS ANGELES -- Ramin Mobayen, a pivotal force in the handmade rug industry, president of Mobayen Rugs in Beverly Hills, and managing director of The Rug Show, died on Jan. 11, 2020 following a long battle with cancer. He was 51.
 
Ramin Mobayen was born on Feb.11, 1968 into a family that has been in rug weaving, manufacturing, import and export for four generations in Iran, the Middle-East, Asia, Europe and in the US with offices in Beverly Hills, California. Mobayen led The Rug Show with passion and dedication.

His vision was to energize the handmade rug industry and to bring everyone together in celebration through The Rug Show, a non-profit industry association comprised of producers, importers and wholesalers whose primary aim is to better promote and expand the interests of the industry. The contribution he made to this community is valued and will be long remembered.

Services will be held on Saturday Jan. 18 at 12:30 pm at the Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Griffin Cemetery Chapel at 5600 Lindero Canyon Rd., Westlake Village.
