LAS VEGAS - The party scene at Las Vegas Market was raised a notch by the elegant and paparazzi-filled launch of the new Christopher Guy showroom in Building A. From a ribbon cutting ceremony replete with confetti and champagne to a Casino Royale theme inside the showroom, attendance figures were reportedly close to 500. Rug companies were also in the event spotlight with appearances Donnie and Marie Osmond at an Outdoor Deck party sponsored by KAS, and personal appearance by designer Nikki Chu for the launch of her rug and accessories collection for Jaipur. NuLOOM and Tufan opened new rug showrooms at in Building A, as did Global Views and its affiliate Studio A.  Here's a photo review of the Las Vegas Market, summer 2015.

A Cirque du Soleil performer lounges on what appeared to be a chandelier at Christopher Guy's showroom launch party inspired by the movie, Casino Royale.

 

Amer


Designers found several trends at Amer's Las Vegas showroom, including the return to black and charcoal grey rugs like this erased weave design from the new Mount Route collection. Amer's Mark Guobadia, Chris Phillips, Joe Barkley and Cherie Crawford show off the rug, which is hand-knotted of New Zealand wool and art silk.  Read more on Amer's new summer market introductions here.

 

Capel


John Magee and Cameron Capel of Capel Rugs, Kim Nyman of Atlanta-based Home Decorators Collection and Capel's Jake Sweeters are posing in front of a Yazzie collection rug, a new all-wool Persian design hand-knotted in India and double-washed for an antique finish.  Read more on Capel's high-value design strategy here. 

 

HRI

Dynamic Rugs


Marisela Lopez and Nancy Steinhardt of At Home in the Valley Inc. of Van Nuys, CA, with Matthew Rouhanian, president, and Katie Stewart, director of product development, of Dynamic Rugs.  The Atlanta success of the company's jute Casual collection continued in Las Vegas. Read more here.

 

Feizy


Standing in front of a rug from Feizy's new Azeri collection with John Feizy (center) are Gerald and Carla Gerami of Rug Gallery by Geramis in Lafayette, LA.  Azeri rugs are power loomed in Turkey in a plush pile of wool with art silk highlights in fashion palettes. Kalaty


Mike Kalaty and Ramin Kalaty flank Sasha Masjedi of West Hollywood, CA-based Modern Rugs LA in front of the new Inspira collection, which is hand knotted 100% bamboo silk in a Tibetan weave. Read more about Kalaty's launch of decorative pillows here.

 

Jaipur


Interior designer Nikki Chu presents her new 20-rug collection for Jaipur with Asha Chaudhary (president and Nand Kishore Chaudhary, founder of Jaipur Rugs.  Based on Chu's "perfect shades of neutrals", the collection includes decorative pillows, throws and ottomans in Chu's global modernist aesthetic.  Read more here.

 

Momeni


Momeni's Stephen Hoberman, vice president of sales, and Reza Momeni, president, flank Sharon Kidd of Parker Furniture in Beaverton, OR and Barbara Rigg of Battle Ground, WA at the company's Las Vegas showroom.  They are standing in front of a new Veranda collection rug which is hand-hooked of polypropylene for indoor-outdoor use.

 

Kaleen


Kaleen's E-commerce and marketing assistant Cody Gibson and senior vice president Blake Dennard, take time out for a RugNews.com photo at the company's Las Vegas showroom. Kaleen introduced 34 designs in a new, proprietary cross-tufted process which produces a loop and cut finish, while multicolor and solid-colored yarn adds interest in texture and color, says Dennard.


Loloi


Loloi market coordinator Michael Castell and company principal Cyrus Loloi flank Kelly Straka and Jillian Jones of Lux-Living of Philadelphia in front of the best-selling new Anastasia collection which is power loomed in Egypt of polypropylene and polyester. Loloi launched nine rug new collections and its first line of decorative throws at summer markets. Read more here.

 

KAS

Nourison


At the Nourison showroom, interior designer Janet Gorringe of Inspired Living Collection at Sherburne Marrs in Boise Idaho reviews the Tahoe Modern collection with Nourison's William Barlage regional manager Midwest, northwest US and Canada.  The ikat rug that caught Gorringe's eye is hand woven in the Tibetan weave of hand-spun premium wool, and happens to coordinate perfectly with her outfit.


NuLOOM
