BOSTON -
Dover Rug & Home in partnership with ASID-New England presented The Art
of the Weave, a family-friendly consumer event on March 29th at the
Dover Rug showroom at 390 Stuart Street in Boston's Back Bay.
Guests
were treated to a rare glimpse at the art of traditional rug making and
textile design, featuring a short history of the art of rug weaving,
samples of wool and textiles, a weaving demonstration and a lively
discussion detailing how every rug tells a story and every pattern has a
history. The Art of the Weave was presented by Mahmud and Hasan Jafri
of Dover Rug & Home and designer Jill Janasiewicz, Allied ASID of Eric
M. Haydel Design, Inc.
Weaving demonstration by Temel Yilmaz.

"We
were excited to provide an in-depth look at rug making and the
intricacies of textile design, two of the world's most beautiful art
forms," said Mahmud Jafri, Dover Rug & Home's chief executive officer.
"For years we've sponsored a successful educational program for
children, introducing them to the art of rug making. This event expanded
on that idea to incorporate fabrics and was one the entire family could
enjoy."
Dover Rug
& Home offers customers an extensive collection of fine rugs (including
one-of-a-kind hand-knotted rugs and carpets), custom window treatments
and hardwood floor options. Showrooms are located in Natick and Boston.
