01182015 Couristan Kicks Off Bevy of Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies at AmericasMart

Atlanta, GA -Couristan kicked off a bevy of new showroom openings and expansions with the first ribbon cutting ceremony of the Atlanta International Rug Market on January 7. The company expanded and upgraded its AmericasMart showroom space 6-D-11 with 1,400 additional sq. ft. of space to showcase a growing assortment of area rugs. 
 

Guests at an opening night cocktail party saw an expansive new suite with a floor plan designed to accommodate fresh new looks in indoor and outdoor area rugs. "The rug line has been growing exponentially, and we needed a larger space to showcase all products effectively," said Steve Codella, executive vice president of sales.

The newly expanded showroom gave the manufacturer plenty of room to spotlight nine brand-new collections as well as the nearly 20 existing collections that were fleshed out with new additions. Natural materials like cotton and jute were highlighted in a few of the introductions, such as the cotton and jute used in the new Bayside collection, and the cotton, jute and grass fibers that were hand-loomed in India to create the expanded Nature's Elements line, and Tangiers, which is  hand-knotted of bamboo into simple geometric designs.

Other highlights from Couristan included Amara, a blend of wool and viscose in contemporary, geometric, two-tone patterns; the Casbah collection of wool and viscose worked in ethnic motifs on a variegated neutral ground; and the Diamonte collection, hand-knotted of recycled sari silk.

Attendees at the opening night event were invited to enter a contest to win an apple MacBook air or an iPad Air 2 to celebrate the Couristan showroom expansion.
