RECORD NUMBER OF NEW EXHIBITORS TO
PARTICIPATE IN 2015 RUG SHOW AT JAVITS

NEW YORK- Record-breaking participation from new and returning companies is fueling momentum for a blockbuster Rug Show at Javits to be held August 30 to September 2, 2015 at New York City's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Now just three years old, the show has more than tripled in exhibitors from 15 when it debuted in 2012, to 56 and counting for the 2015 edition. The summer market also will feature the largest attendance by international dealers, and an increased number of designers from the U.S. and abroad, lending this edition a much stronger international presence.

A record 24 exhibiting companies are first-time participants in the New York show. "The surge of interest from new and returning companies to the Rug Show at Javits is a testament to its importance to suppliers who want to connect with buyers from across the United States and from around the world," said Ramin Mobayen, a board member and director of the non-profit industry show.

A healthy mix of new and returning exhibitors will be complemented by the largest attendance of retailers, designers and wholesalers in the show's short history. Behind the strong growth is the fact that many exhibitors showcase a variety of one-of-a-kind rugs, a category for which demand by designers and consumers is soaring. Also important are the high quality of exhibitors' programmed collections as well as custom design capabilities.

International Flavor

"We are expecting a more international flavor, not only exhibitor-wise, but buyers too," Mobayen said, adding that three of the five Domotex design award winners from 2015 are Rug Show at Javits exhibitors. "It is logical that Domotex should draw a lot of people from Africa and the Middle East. But from the Americas it should be natural for them to come to our show in NY - it's far more convenient."

In addition to product sourcing opportunities, show attendees can take advantage of special rates at the hip and exclusive Hudson New York hotel. To view the rates, click here.

Opening Night Soiree

Already, exhibitors and attendees are awaiting the much-anticipated announcement of the venue for this year's opening night soiree, a hugely popular tradition at the expo that includes dinner and cocktail party to be held on Sunday, August 30. The show also hosts a Monday afternoon hors d'oeuvres and beverages welcome reception at the Javits Center. "We want everyone to join us for an unforgettable evening of dinner and drinks to reconnect with old friends and meet new ones," said Mobayen, noting that the events also offer a glimpse into the inclusive ambiance of The Rug Shows in both New York and L.A.

"We are a non-profit organization, and I think that differentiates us from other shows.  All of the board and members take an active role and participate in decision-making at a very high level. In that sense it is an industry association that is extremely inclusive," Mobayen said.
