AMER RUGS NAMES JOHN MENDEZ REGIONAL MANAGER; PROMOTES SANDY BONE TO CREATIVE DIRECTOR

NORCROSS, Georgia -- Amer Rugs has announced the appointment of industry veteran John Mendez as regional manager for the New York-New Jersey region, and the promotion of Sandy Bone to creative director.
"While John has been with Amer for over six years as an independent rep, in his new role he will be linked even closer to Amer as a company sales professional," said Joe Barkley, vice president of Amer Rugs, in making the announcement.
Mendez, who has been a consistent top performer at Amer and has been awarded Sales Associate of the Year honors three times in the past five years, was also, during his tenure as an independent rep, a top producer for Loloi and other key home décor suppliers. Prior distinctions include National Salesperson of the Year and multiple honors as Eastern Regional Sales Rep of the Year for Fabrica International. Mendez, a graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology with a degree in Interior Design, will report directly to Bret Baker, Amer national sales manager.
Sandy Bone, an industry veteran, joined Amer earlier this year as designer specialist and territory manager for the company's southeast territory Sandy Bone. In her new position as creative director, she will be based in Amer's Norcross facility and will help lead the design and color direction of Amer's product development, working closely with the Amer/Saraswatii design team in India.
"Sandy brings a wealth of color awareness and an uncanny sense of fashion and design," Barkley said. "Her experience as a buyer and as a gifted sales associate makes her a great fit for Amer.
Added Raj Choudhary, Amer director: "We are truly excited to have Sandy bring direction to our amazing talented Amer design team." Bone will report directly to Joe Barkley.
