SUGAR VALLEY, Ga. -- Mohawk Home is slated to unveil more than 100 new rugs in a range of styles, including woven, printed, tufted and indoor/outdoor, at the Fall 2016 New York Home Fashions Market.
Among those debuts is the brand's first domestically made indoor/outdoor natural fiber-look collection, Veranda.
"The New York Home Fashions Market is all about our Mohawk Home brand, since the show is geared more towards our big box retailers," Mohawk Home's marketing communications manager, Hope Hankins, told RugNews.com. "The new rugs capitalize on the latest home design trends, and range from classic traditional styles to modern artistic motifs. There's something for everyone in this group of exciting new introductions."
WOVEN RUGS
The new for 2016 Antiquities range, crafted of space-dyed polyester, evokes the classic designs of ancient Persia and adds new styles for the fall show.
The Antiquities collection was first introduced at the spring New York market, and this fall, expands to include over 30 new designs. The collection features historical patterns, inspired by the fine carpets of ancient Persia. All the newly added styles feature custom-colored fringe that enhances the palette of the rug design. All are constructed of space-dyed polyester, offering exceptional color, durability and stain resistance.
The Simplicity and Anthology collections, also introduced at the last New York market, are expanding with new pattern introductions in Fall 2016. Anthology has a casual, bohemian vibe, while Simplicity contains contemporary geometrics with a global feeling.
The Shimmer Shag collection, introduced at the April 2016 New York market, is growing with the introduction of five new colors, doubling the line's color options to 10 hues, ranging from indigo blue to cosmetic blush and a variety of neutrals in between. The collection includes solids and patterns, all made of microfiber giving them a soft, fluffy hand.
The Soho range also gets fresh color combinations, adding a new palette of sophisticated industrial colors, bringing grey, tinted grey, industrial blue hues and a variety of patterns to this collection. These modern artistic designs range from contemporary geometrics to unique abstracts, all interpreted in shag. The result is a collection that offers the perfect combination of texture, pattern and color.
PRINTED RUGS
The Art District collection is the most diverse range Mohawk Home has ever offered in printed rugs, with four bases giving these brilliant rugs a distressed watercolor appearance that evokes a painterly feel. The wide array of designs includes contemporary abstracts, fretwork patterns, medallions, floral and ethereal looks that add an artistic bent to today's decor. Available in a number of palettes, the collection includes indigo blues, jewel tones, soft hues and modern colors to complement any interior, from classic traditional to bold modern.
TUFTED RUGS
The new Madison collection of tufted rugs takes its cues from menswear, including simple geometrics, stripes and plaids. Some of the Madison rugs feature colors that are more masculine, including greys, blues, reds and blacks, while other designs feature today's fashion color stories, including industrial and jewel tones.
Another new introduction is the Signature collection, tufted on Mohawk Home's Color-Point machine. Color-Point tufting technology allows for more intricate designs, including medallions, florals and Persian motifs, featuring both brilliant color palettes and tone-on-tone interpretations, all with the look of hand-tufted craftsmanship.
INDOOR/OUTDOOR RUGS
The new Veranda collection is the company's first domestically made range of indoor/outdoor rugs. This natural fiber-like flat weave collection is constructed of solution-dyed polypropylene, and offers stain, moisture and mold resistance, as well as color permanence (with UV protection of up to 1,000 hours of light fastness). The Veranda collection is an all-around easy-care solution in a natural fiber-look, and the flat weave construction makes the rugs ideal for layering too.
