ZOLLANVARI RETURNS TO MAISON & OBJET PARIS IN PRIME LOCATION

Zollanvari will exhibit at the Fall 2016 edition of Maison & Objet Paris with a host of new designs including Grafitti 1, from the Gabbehs Abstract & Plain Collection with its contemporary spin on ancient Gabbeh motifs.

PARIS -- Zollanvari returns to Maison & Objet (M&O) Paris September 2 - 6, 2016 with a stand in a prime location on the Red Carpet, and an expansive range of collections, from the tribal, classical and modern designs from southern Persia to the glamorous contemporary and traditional designs of the Kundan Koti Silk Collection made in Rajasthan, India.

"M&O Paris is one of the most important design shows to launch new creations," states Reza Zollanvari, Group Managing Director of Zollanvari International. "We normally participate in both the September and January editions, and this year also debuted at M&O Americas in Miami, which proved to be a hugely successful show for us."

GABBEH COLLECTIONS

Zollanvari will launch several designs and collections at M&O Paris, including Graffiti from the Gabbehs Abstract & Plain Collection. The Graffiti line takes inspiration from ancient Gabbehs (pile rugs traditionally used as bedding characterized by abstract designs that rely on playful geometry).

Zollanvari has given the archaic design motifs of these ancient Gabbehs a thoroughly contemporary twist in a combination of cool pastels and zany vibrant colors. The effect is a thoroughly on-trend carpet for today's interior design sensibilities. Graffiti Gabbehs are woven using the finest highland wools from the Zagros Mountains in a Kashkuli quality, named after one of the Ghashghai' nomadic tribes living in the Fars province, southeast and northwest of Shiraz, Iran.

Other new designs to be seen at the fair are: Chimera, Plain Petrol Blue and Mirage 4 from the Gabbehs Abstract & Plain Collection (in shimmering comb-like zigzag designs and combinations of single and multi-tone wools creating thoroughly contemporary Gabbehs); Verdant Landscape from the Gabbehs Landscape Collection (rolling green hills and vales in unique perspectives) and Squares Revisited 5 from the Gabbehs Geometric Collection (tribal motifs in squares of varying sizes and colors creating a game-board effect).

Zollanvari introduces Verdant Landscape from the Gabbehs Landscape collection at Maison & Objet Paris in September 2016.

FLATWEAVES AND SOUMAKS

Caprino (tribal kilims made of undyed goat hair and over-embroidered with erratic vibrantly-colored stripes), Ikat (Southeast Asian designs meet Persian aesthetics), Mazandaran 4 (subtle duo-tone fine zigzags and comb-like patterns) and Vibrant Baneh 2 (in new on -trend colors) are all new kilims from the Flatweaves Collections.

Woodlands at Sunset and Woodland by Night (both from the Into the Woods line) as well as Baluch Soumaks in new colors from the Transitional Collections will also be seen for the first time in Paris this September.

Ikat Kilim 2 from the Zollanvari Minimalist Flatweave Collection will be featured at Maison & Objet Paris.

DESIGNER CARPETS

Designer carpets on show will include Abrashed and Abstract Floral Cartouches and Jeziorak designs which are additions to the Isfahan Collection made in Iran. Other new design carpets made in Rajasthan, India, are additions to the Kundan Diffusion Koti Silk production including Ikat Pendants & Flowers, Chinese Flower Power and Tiger Ikat. The carpets from the Kundan Silk Collection, developed for the US market since the embargo on Iranian products imposed in 2010, are woven using the most exquisite materials, such as raw organic and banana silk. They are hand-knotted by skilled artisans and the subtle over-dyeing of the carpets with translucent colors creates a unique multidimensional shimmering texture.
