WOOL INDUSTRY TRIP TO NEW ZEALAND
SET FOR MARCH 2016

Atlanta - Wools of New Zealand has announced a unique Wool Carpet Industry trip to New Zealand in March 2016 that combines sightseeing throughout the country in addition to an educational component with tours of sheep farms and visits to experts in various aspects of yarn production including wool scouring and spinning.

The itinerary has been crafted by Down Under Endeavors in Chicago, and leaves from Los Angeles on March 4, returning on March 6, 2016. The trip features visits to both the North and South islands of New Zealand, and hits all the highlights including Auckland, Queenstown, Milford Sound, the geothermal sights of Rotorua, the garden city of Christchurch, and a marine wildlife cruise of Akaora Harbor.

"Guests will visit the Barry Bay Estate sheep farm, home of Mark Shadbolt, chairman of Wools of New Zealand, where they will experience what it takes to raise the sheep that grow the wool used to make the best carpet in the world," said Hallie Cobb, executive director of North America for Wools of New Zealand.  The estate visit is followed by a barbeque with other local sheep farmers of Banks Peninsula.  The next day, on the way to Mt. Cook - the highest mountain in New Zealand - includes visits to a different sheep farm, a spinner and wool scouring facility

"This is a once in a lifetime journey.  Our tour operator has included the most important sightseeing destinations of New Zealand, including visits to the world's largest hot water spring, a walk through a volcanic alley and a boat cruise on a crater in Rotorua. We will stay in a charming chateau on the edge of Christchurch's lovely botanical gardens just a 15 minute walk to the town center. The trip will come to a close with three nights in Queenstown, the adventure capitol of the world, where you can enjoy fishing, golfing, or wine tasting. There will be opportunities to raise your adrenalin with an excursion on a jet-boat, a chance to parasail off a mountain, or bungee jump," Cobb said.

Cost for the 10-day tour is $5,344 including airfare from Los Angeles. Complete details are available by contacting Wools of New Zealand at (404) 667-9531.
