CLASSICS REVISITED: MUST-SEE NEW LOOKS AT THE RUG SHOW NEW YORK

NEW YORK -- When the Rug Show New York opens at the Javits Center on August 25, exhibitors will present striking directional fashion statements with designs based on traditional motifs, many around for millenniums.

Whether they borrow from tribal designs or formal Persian classics, top names in designer carpets from Jurgen Dahlmanns of Germany to Luke Irwin of Great Britain will present their own provocative takes on ages-old icons.  Purists looking for traditional designs with new pattern placement and updated palettes will find them at many Rug Show stands, including Andkhuy, Anadol, and S&H Rugs.

Interior designers shopping the show for sustainable design will find an entire distressed Persian collection impeccably refinished and recolored by Nalbandian. And those on the hunt for semi-antique and antique carpets will find designs in surprisingly contemporary colors at Looms of Persia.

In this exclusive pre-show snapshot, RugNews.com spotlights 12 must-see "Classics Revisited" at the Rug Show New York, North America's most diverse showcase of handmade carpets. And if you haven't seen our sneak peek at contemporary designs at the upcoming show, make sure to check out the news from more trend-setting exhibitors.
