ANDY HILFIGER ROCKS AT RIZZY HOME, LAUNCHES ANDREW CHARLES RUG & TEXTILES COLLECTIONS

Andy Hilfiger's Andrew Charles collection debuted on April 24 during High Point Market with rugs (left), pillows and more featuring a combination rock star meets-Americana vibe.

HIGH POINT -- Andy Hilfiger joined Rizzy Home at its Showplace showroom on Monday night for the official launch of the Andrew Charles collection to online and bricks and mortar retailers.

The Andrew Charles brand debuted exclusively in home goods and fine jewelry with Overstock.com last year as part of the etailer's designer collection.

Andy Hilfiger joined Rizzy Home at its High Point showroom launch party last night for the official opening of the Andrew Charles collection to a broad base of customers.

In honor of the line's expansion to include 14 hand-tufted rugs, nine bedding designs, 29 pillows, nine shower curtains, 11 window panels, as well as its opening to a broad base of retailers, Hilfiger - who is also a bass guitarist and has toured with members of the Ramones, Kid Rock, and Blue Oyster Cult - gave a special performance at the Rizzy showroom with a group aptly named for a textiles venue: the "Loom-ineers."

Many of the designs in the Andrew Charles collection crafted by Rizzy Home have a rock-star-inflected vibe, with pillows for example embellished with skulls, stars and glitter. Rugs in the collection have stripes or stars for a hip take on Americana, that is reminiscent of Tommy Hilfiger USA's bold use of iconic American colors and symbols.  All products in the Rizzy line have been designed by Andy Hilfiger and his wife Kim.

Rizzy Home takes a cross-category approach to the new rugs and home textiles collections from Andy Hilfiger.

Andy Hilfiger started a division at his brother's company, Tommy Hilfiger USA, Inc. in which he dressed some of Hollywood's movie stars and rock and pop musicians, and also started the accessories division for Tommy Hilfiger USA, Inc., where he designed hats, bags and outerwear, creating a multi-million-dollar business.

His namesake company Andrew Charles launched in apparel in 2011 with Macy's, and he is a partner in Star Branding, which in turn is a partner with Li & Fung U.S.A. in a company called MESH, under which the Andrew Charles fashion line was developed.
