NEW YORK --Greg Jordt has been named executive vice president of sales and marketing for Harounian Rugs International, according to Lee Harounian, president of the rug importing company.
Jordt is a veteran of 30 years in the rug industry, with experience in both retail and wholesale.
His responsibilities at HRI will include working with current and developing new national accounts, expanding the national sales force and developing new marketing strategies.
“ My brother David Harounian and I are pleased to have Jordt on our executive team. He has worked hard throughout his career to build and maintain strong relationships with many of the top retailers in the country," said Lee Harounian. "His experience and knowledge of the rug industry will help us to expand and diversify our national customer base.â€Â
On the wholesale side, Jordt has served as chief operating officer of Couristan and was most recently with Miresco. On the retail level, Jordt has been a buyer with Burdines and J.L.Hudsons and national merchandise manager for Ethan Allen.
Harounian Rugs International is a 45 year old importer of hand knotted, tufted, hand loomed and machine made area rugs with production in: India, China, Pakistan, Turkey and Belgium.
The HRI warehouse and corporate offices are located in New York City with showrooms in Atlanta and Las Vegas.
