DWELL ON DESIGN, BED BATH & BEYOND AND CLOTH & COMPANY PARTNER IN COMPETITION FOR EMERGING DESIGNERS
Cloth & Company founders Christiane Lemieux and Meganne Wecker have partnered with Bed, Bath & Beyond and the Dwell on Design show in L.A. on a textile-to-furniture design competition.
LOS ANGELES -- The Dwell on Design show here is spotlighting designer Christiane Lemieux as a featured speaker and exhibitor, and is partnering with her newventure Cloth & Company and retailer Bed Bath & Beyond on a textile-to-furniture design competition.
The final winner will be announced onsite at the fair, which runs June 23-25 at the L.A. Convention Center. Lemieux, who founded and then sold the upscale DwellStudio to Wayfair in August 2013, was namedWayfair executive creative director in January 2014. She left Wayfair in the fall of 2015 to pursue her own new business opportunities.
Design entrepreneur Christiane Lemieux will speak and exhibit at Dwell on Design.
Targeting emerging designers, the digital design competition offers contestants the opportunity to submit textile designs to be considered for production by Cloth & Company.
The selected top five finalists will have a prototype chair produced and exhibited in the Cloth & Company booth #2107 at Dwell on Design from June 23-25. The final winner will havetheir design produced into a line of five to six furniture pieces to be sold through Bed Bath & Beyond. The winner will also receive between 5-8 percent in sales on their furniture line.
Designers can submit two to three digital designs that can be applied to various furniture styles here. The deadline for submission is June 9, 2017.

Lemieux has partnered with fourth-generation furniture company executive, Meganne Wecker, to create Cloth & Company, a customer-curated furniture brand. Wecker is the president and chief creative officer of her family's Chicago-based wholesale furniture manufacturing company, Skyline Furniture.
Using 3-D modeling and digital printing technology, Cloth & Company produces custom designed pieces including upholstered seating and window treatments that ship within six days of purchase. With quick turnarounds and virtually limitless design possibilities, Cloth & Company is innovating the ways in which retailers can create and manufacture furniture. Currently they offer collections for several retail partners and have a collaboration program which recently launched highly publicized collaborations with Oh Joy!, Apartment Therapy, and now Dwell on Design.
