HIGH POINT, N.C. -- High Point Market remains the dominant East Coast home furnishings fair and participating areas rug vendors have high hopes for the fall 2019 fair rolling out a slew of new products for market-goers.

What's more the number of events hosted by rug vendors continues to mushroom offering buyers 30 plus incentives to drop by rug showrooms and browse. When buyers do stop by, they won't be disappointed as rug makers continue to push the design limits of the category, rethinking everything from yarn and fiber to innovative colorations and ease of shopping cross-coordinated looks.

For example, Orian/Palmetto Living rolls out several new constructions for shoppers delivering new levels of softness to buyers craving comfort and a domestically made source; Loloi and Rifle Paper Co.'s Anna Bond host a special event and celebrate her latest designs. Likewise, Momeni welcomes its new license partner Christiane Lemieux at its showroom for a tour, talk and cocktails. Nourison offers new Calvin Klein rugs in mid-level and upper-level qualities and partner Kathy Ireland will stop by for a meet and greet and showing off her latest rugs; while S&H Rugs showcases hand-knotted traditional designs reworked in fashion-colors; and Safavieh will highlight its finer hand-knotted rugs, Ralph Lauren collection additions and more.

"We anticipate a busy October High Point Market. With the growth of the Palmetto Living brand, High Point has become a core market for Orian," said Brandon Culpepper, chief revenue officer. "We have many things to finalize, so we plan to have strategic meetings with our larger furniture partners; we have appointments with prospective accounts, and we are offering promotions that should help us write orders in the showroom."

Noted Mike Thompson, vice president of sales, LR Resources, "Our brick and mortar retailers have been experiencing stronger retail traffic over the past 60 days, so I fully expect High Point to be busy this fall. High Point Market has become our most important market of the year. The range of accounts and prospects that attend have definitely made it a must-attend market for us."

Below you will find Part 2 of our Rug Buyers' Guide to High Point Market -- and make sure not miss Part 1 of this comprehensive area rug preview.
