NEW YORK - New York's 27th
International Contemporary Furniture Fair is garnering the attention of
more rug players with each passing year. And, the 2015 edition will
witness a doubling of participants who categorize themselves as rug
manufacturers. ICFF freshman include established US brands such as
Nourison, Pasargad and Safavieh, European entrants such as cc-Tapis,
Brooklyn based design studios such as Aelfie, and industry newcomers
like Namo Rugs.
They will be showcasing
their latest introductions alongside past ICFF participants such as
Classic Rug Collection, French Accent Rugs & Tapestries, Jan Kath
Designs, Nasiri Carpets and Tibetano; as well as rug players returning
after a hiatus from the show, including New Moon. ICFF has become a
magnet show for companies trying to garner the attention of interior
designers, who scout the show looking for new products and fresh ideas.
This year's exposition includes a dedicated space for high-end makers
called LUXE Home, on level 3, which will include Amadi Carpets, Classic
Rug Collection, New Moon, Pasargad, Parentesi Quadra and Safavieh.

Brooklyn design studio
Aelfie will showcase its smart contemporary rugs, which are handmade in
India and start at $89. "This is our first year at ICFF," says Rebecca
Rosenberg. "We are very excited to be able to participate in the show
this year. Because ICFF is such a well-attended show, we are hopeful
that it will launch our brand into the homes of many." The company,
which also creates pillows and other decorative accessories, will be
playing up its colorful, graphic rugs, the bread and butter of the
company. Designers can expect to see patterns such as Suzanna in teal or
magenta, Kadish in black and blue, and the blue inflected Felix. Booth

mix of all of those fibers.
"We did our first ICFF show
in 2010, when we officially launched our company and first collection,"
says founder Inigo Elizalde. "We do this show because of convenience -
our studio and office is located on 30th Street and 6th Avenue, very
close to the Javits Center. We've never done any other shows, but I
think what sets ICFF apart is that it doesn't pander to those attending
by showing 'easy' products. It's a high-minded design exhibit where the
bar is raised high and the products are fantastic and innovative." Booth

attending ICFF for many years, since the creation of our New York show

"For us, ICFF is a great show to connect with partners, fellow
designers, and customers."

NAMO RUGS
Rug industry newcomer Namo,
which introduced its debut collection last fall, is taking part in ICFF
for the first time. With an established network in Europe, Namo hopes to
extend its market and bring its contemporary rugs to US clients. The
company's handmade wool felt rugs are made at a company owned factory in

NASIRI CARPETS
Nasiri Carpets, which has
participated in ICFF for the past few years, will showcase the company's
newest flatweave collections which it debuted earlier this year. Two
highlights at ICFF will include Mid-Century Modern (crafted of fine
wool, cotton and goat hair) and Mazandaran (crafted of hand spun wool

architecture and music of the West," says the company's Nader Nasiri.
"These modernist designs were discovered in the hinterland of the
Mazandaran Province and are steeped in tradition."
He adds, "We love
presenting our new collections to an enthusiastic audience. We
anticipate meeting with our talented designer friends as well as new
designers." Booth 2439 (L1)
NEW MOON
"We used to participate in
ICFF a long time ago, but it has been quite a while," says New Moons'
Josephine Kurtz, artistic director. "There was an opportunity to exhibit
in an area with Luxe Magazine, which we decided to give a try. ICFF
tends to be higher end and has more of an international clientele than
High Point, which is the other main designer show we do. This year has
already been off to a great start for us and we are really feeling the
momentum and hope it continues into the rest of the year. I am
expecting our more contemporary striking pieces to be popular, as well
as our more classic bordered designs which are more of our bread and
butter."
At ICFF, New Moon will
showcase some abstracted designs, handmade in Tibet, inspired by watery
depths, such as Shale in ocean (100 knot, Tibetan wool and Chinese
silk), the silvery Serpiente in deep blue (100 knot, Tibetan wool,
Chinese silk and Aloe), Fiord in tide water - 100 knot, Tibetan wool and
Chinese silk and aloe), and Tortoise Shell in charcoal (100 knot,
Tibetan wool and Chinese silk). Also, on show will be Papillion in

earlier, rug industry heavyweight Nourison decided to try out ICFF.

and digital strategy. On stage will be one of the company's most popular
styles at High Point Market: the Twilight rug in Ivory Grey (TWI12).
"Buyers also won't want to miss our new Nightfall Collection, and our

City Chic rugs. We will also be showcasing our high-end broadloom
collections including Manhattan and Stardust," Marra said. Booth 2252
