Rug vendors unveil new looks for Spring 2017 New York Home Fashions Market. 

NEW YORK -- The spring 2017 New York Home Fashions Market, running from March 27-30, is shaping up to deliver lots of newness and special customized programs tailored to drive profitable sales for big box retailers, discounters and domestics chains.

Five rug companies - Feizy, HRI, Momeni, Rugs America and Rizzy Home - will be presenting in new showrooms at the semi-annual textile event, most having relocated to larger spaces. Innovations in fiber, construction and weave abound, with many brands introducing mixes of yarns to create textural effects in machine made rugs at affordable prices designed to appeal to NY market shoppers.

Bohemian and tribal looks as well as abstract designs that saturated winter markets have already been placed with major retailers, with several rug companies reporting strong Q1 sales in these categories.

Following is a preview of the looks rug companies expect to top buyers' hit lists as they shop New York showrooms.

COURISTAN

Couristan's Mashad rug from the Sultan Treasures collection is expected to be a best seller at New York Home.

Couristan brings to NY Sultan Treasures, a Persian-inspired, power-loomed collection that pairs traditional designs with rich, modern color. Featuring a face-to-face Wilton weave, Sultan Treasures is crafted of 100 percent heat-set Courtron polypropylene in Belgium. MSRP begins at $379. Also taking its cues from classic Persian rugs, Patina, based on 16th and 17th century designs, is a face-to-face Wilton weave of 60 percent heat-set Courtron polypropylene and 40 percent polyester. The collection features a fashionable range of fresh colors that saturate a soft, luxurious pile. Power loomed in Belgium, Patina offers more than a million points of yarn per square meter. DYNAMIC RUGS

Dynamic Rugs shows off its new digital printing technology in the Illusion collection's broad range of designs from traditional to contemporary, all featuring fresh, modern colors. The printed patterns are applied to a durable, easy-care polyester chenille construction so designs pop, and come with non-skid recycled cotton and polyester backing. The Evolution collection takes shag rugs to a new level with high-density rugs woven in Turkey to combine intricate traditional designs with the transitional soft touch of shag. FEIZY

HAROUNIAN RUGS INTERNATIONAL

Harounian Rugs International continues to roll out abstract designs and adds to its popular Rosewood collection with RO-1275 in blue-beige.

Harounian Rugs International invites buyers to its first New York Home Fashions Market in its new corporate headquarters and showroom (read full story). The company will show the complete range of hand-knotted lines including the popular Avalon collection. In addition, two new designs and colorways have just been added to the company's hottest selling Rosewood collection.
 
The two introductions expand Rosewood's free flowing abstract designs which are hand knotted in India of New Zealand wool and finely spun viscose to create a unique three dimensional look. HOME DYNAMIX

Home Dynamix introduces its Elle Decor assortment with three collections of accent rugs and mats, Pictured, Brush Strokes from the new range.

Home Dynamix premieres its Elle Décor line with three collections of accent rugs and mats. The updated Parisian lifestyle look includes the indoor-outdoor Brush Strokes in painterly designs crafted of Textiline for water- and weather-resistance and with UV protection. Also debuting are Lafayette, a range of high pile shags in neutral colors made from a shiny polypropylene fiber and non-skid latex back, and the Wilmington series of scatter mats made from cross-woven polypropylene for a casual sisal look.
 
At New York Market, Home Dynamix will also introduce the abstract art inspired Vogue collection in four designs machine made of polypropylene, the polypropylene Marquee collection with contemporary designs and vibrant colors, and the subtle patterns of the Luminescence collection with soft colors and distressed vintage designs. KAS RUGS

At New York Market, Kas introduces new florals, leaves and on-point transitional watercolor rugs to the machine woven Stella collection. Made in Turkey of 100 percent polypropylene, the range features an easy color palette and designs that complement a variety decorating styles. Kas also adds to the Serenity collection, which is hand-tufted in India in wool with viscose highlights, and debuts new scatter programs, pillows and indoor-outdoor categories tailored to New York show buyers. LINON/POWELL

In addition to its popular Flokati rugs from Greece in multiple weights and colors, and expansive offering of affordable oversized cowhides from Brazil, Linon brings new collections and special programs to New York Home Fashions Market. The High Low Chenille flat woven collection features 100 percent microfiber polyester on the high pile and 100 percent chenille low pile for contrasting texture. Retail is $249 for a 5x8. LOLOI

Loloi debuts the power-loomed Javari range (shown, JV-02CCSS), which pairs distressed all-over motifs with bold colors.

Loloi introduces the Javari collection with distressed all-over patterns modernized through bold colors, and power loomed for long-lasting durability of polyester and polypropylene to ensure very limited shedding. MOHAWK HOME

Mohawk will introduce its new Heirlooms collection, made in the U.S., which features a rustic, hand-knotted look.

Mohawk Home debuts three woven in the U.S. collections, several in new constructions, for shoppers of the spring 2017 Home Fashions Market (read full story). The indoor-outdoor Villa collection is crafted of low cut-pile polyester and is constructed to add a new level of softness to outdoor spaces. The debuting Heirlooms line features a coarse, rustic hand-knotted look, where the cotton warp and weft become a part of the visual. MOMENI

Momeni returns to New York Home Fashions Market with a new showroom at 3 W. 30th Street, 2nd floor, seeing buyers by appointment (read more). The company will introduce several new lines, including Cosette and Nomad. Cosette features traditional florals in hand-hooked 100 percent wool, while Nomad focuses on hand-knotted wool tribal motifs with Bohemian style influences. Both collections are crafted in India. NOURISON

At New York Home Fashions Market, Nourison will present a new range of colorful tribal and Boho designs, and shags in soft shades tailored to big box and national retailers looking for newness (read full story). Premiering at the show is Kathy Ireland Light & Airy, a brand new collection of hand-tufted shag rugs with beautifully carved patterns in an array of neutral colors. Nourison adds two new fashion colors, Blush and Slate Blue, to the palette for its popular plush Amore shag collection, and new patterns and colors to accent rugs in the Morocco and Southdown lines.
 
The Vibrant collection, hand-tufted of high quality wool, and introduced in Las Vegas in January 2017 is expected to be popular with spring market buyers for its rich colors and Boho-inspired patterns. NULOOM

Elisabeth, a new design from the Indigo collection by Nuloom, is powerloomed in Turkey of polypropylene. 

For the first time ever, Nuloom will open its Manhattan showroom for this spring New York Home Fashions Market. As they expand their distribution to include the retail channels that shop the semi-annual occasion, Nuloom will use this spring market to display the brand new Indigo and Mystic collections. 

The Indigo collection, shown here, is power loomed of 100% polypropylene. A 5x8 will retail at $179. The Mystic collection is 100% polyester, and a 5x8 will retail at $219. OBEETEE

Obeetee will focus New York Home Fashions Market on its new hand-knotted Mehrab collection crafted of luster wool and viscose. Pictured, Mehrab #9072057.

Obeetee will showcase the Opulence collection, hand knotted in India of Afghani luster wool and viscose yarns with a starting retail at $67 per square foot. ORIAN

Orian presents the vintage-looking Bohemian collection (shown in 4510) for New York Home Fashions Market.

Orian is brings a new vintage-like collection of Persian-styled designs to New York Home Fashions Market called Bohemian. Machine made of 100 percent polypropylene, these classic designs feature motifs in a blend of deep, saturated colors. From large whimsical patterns incorporating organic elements to vintage or worn looks, Bohemian rugs carry an MSRP of $327 in 5x8.

The space-dyed effects featured in the Next Generation and Bohemian collections are achieved through Orian Rugs' proprietary Fusion Color Technology, which the company says delivers high-value polypropylene rugs at a fraction of the cost of space-dyed rugs. In response to the increased attention and demand for these made in the U.S.A. collections, Orian Rugs has expanded these collections and releasing new designs in both Next Generation and Bohemian at the upcoming New York and High Point Spring Markets. Oriental Weavers introduces the Bohemian collection, a modern take on global, eclectic influences in a reimagined palette, for the spring edition of New York Home Fashions Market. Lively, bright colors in warm tones of magenta, tangerine, and citron and cool shades of amethyst and light turquoise are balanced by earthy colors of charcoal and oyster. Exploring the use of graphic tile patterns, traditional folk motifs, and large scale Persian medallions, the Bohemian collection is machine woven of polypropylene. RUGS AMERICA

A digitally printed Pets@Heart rug from a new collection to be introduced at NY Home Fashions Market by Rugs America. 

Rugs America celebrates its new showroom at 295 Fifth Avenue and a new partnership with The Humane society of The United States (HSUS) at the spring New York Home Fashions Market. The collaboration with HSUS has resulted in a new pet rug line, Pets@Heart, which will be unveiled at Market. In honor of the launch, a party will be held on March 28 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Rugs America showroom with representatives from HSUS on hand.
 
Digital photographs of popular dog and cat breeds are transformed into rugs with precise color and pattern definition, which will be offered in various sizes. The collection will be expanded with new breeds to be introduced annually. Rugs America, 295 Fifth Ave., Suite 1203.
 
RIZZY HOME

A design from Rizzy Home's Zingaro collection illustrates the diversity in the company's Boho offerings.

Rizzy Home marks its first NY Home Fashions Market at a new permanent showroom at 295 Fifth Avenue this spring. The company's complete vertical line of hand-knotted, hand-tufted, and machine made rugs as well as top of bed, decorative pillows and throws will be on display. The line-up includes top-of-bed and decorative pillows from the Donny Osmond Home Collection, and a coordinated collection of Boho rugs and pillows. 
 
The company's Zingaro collection of Bohemian rugs is hand tufted using premium wool in a variety of designs, from abstract and geometric patterns to tribals, florals and Art Deco-inspired motifs. SAFAVIEH

Safavieh introduces this vibrant transitional Bristol collection rug for New York Home Fashions Market. 

Safavieh debuts a number of lively contemporary styles for the spring 2017 edition of New York Home Fashions Market. The power-loomed Bristol collection is made of polyester in Turkey.
