HIGH
POINT, NC - Momeni continues to expand its presence in decorative
accessories with a separate showroom devoted to the M2 Momeni Home
collection at this month's High Point Market. Directly opposite the
company's main area rug and broadloom showroom, the new space featured a
sampling of the 100-SKU line, which is designed for high-end furniture
stores and interior designers.
The M2
collection is divided into four categories: décor, desktop, furniture
and tabletop. The décor offering includes a range of accessories such
as book ends, candle holders and decorative lanterns. Desktop offerings
include handsome leather desk accessories, while the tabletop category
features trays and ice buckets.

The
sophisticated accent furniture collection includes desks, bar carts,
side and coffee tables, trunk-style tables and ottoman, nesting tables
and a leather strap mirror. The M2 collection is made in India, and
most pieces combine leather and polished nickel. "It's a high end look
at accessible prices," said Reza Momeni, company president, whose wife,
Bita has merchandised the collection. Retail prices range from $1,200
to $1,800 for a coffee table, and start at $500 for accessories.

The
company has been testing buyer reaction to M2 earlier this year at
Atlanta and Las Vegas markets in January, and based on positive
feedback, the entire line is now in stock and ready to ship. "Designers
are responding to the freshness of the look. The Restoration Hardware
look has been overdone with so many copies, the market response has
been, 'this is so refreshing'," explained Bita Momeni.
With its
leather straps and polished silver combinations, M2 furniture evokes the
craftsmanship of high end silversmith Christofle, and the equestrian
designs of Hermes. "The designs give retailers a point of difference in
the marketplace. It's a more contemporary look with clean, simple
lines. Sales in High Point have been very encouraging," said Reza Momeni.
