08072014 Barkley Named VP of Sales and Marketing for Amer

ATLANTA –Amer Rugs has named Joe Barkley as vice president of sales and marketing, according to Tanuj Gupta, president.

In his new position, Barkley will be responsible for Amer‘s sales and marketing and the expansion of Amer’s growth into additional markets.

Barkley is a veteran industry executive with over 30 years in the decorative flooring industry. Most recently, he was a senior partner at Provisions & Sourcing, LLC.

Earlier he served in executive,  sales and marketing assignments at such companies as Kaleen and Shaw Rugs..

“The chance to join the team within the preeminent vertical manufacturer of fine handmade rugs offers a tremendous opportunity, ” said Barkley. He will report directly to Tanuj Gupta.

Amer is a  design and manufacturer of  rugs based in Atllanta, and the American subsidiary of Saraswatii Global Private, Ltd., based in Jaipur, India.

Amer’s flagship showroom is located at AmericasMart Atlanta, Building 1, 5-D-2 and is open daily. Amer also operates permanent showrooms in High Point and Las Vegas during industry trade show dates, and also shows in New York, Hanover and Jaipur.
